I also have a soon to be 19 year old son (March 11th).

Oh, I know - you've posted pictures of him.  Good looking kid, but I wouldn't want to meet that guy in a dark alley!  :lmao:

Oh so you were just trying to get on my good side then?!?

It worked.  :p

Edited to add: Actually it depends on what you meant when you said, "Good looking kid, but I wouldn't want to meet that guy in a dark alley!".

My flight through DFW was just freaking canceled and there were no alternates available!  I am back in my freaking Richmond hotel.

A happy camper, I am not.

Fly through Dallas on Saturday - it'll be in the 90s here then.   :rotf:

Everyone in your family is beautiful.  The pics you posted of your son looked like he could hold his own in a fight.

You funny.  real funny.

I'm sorry, I was just being silly.  I feel your pain - I've been stuck in airports all over the county for stupider reasons than weather.

This is North Texas.  Everything shuts down when there's a hint of snow/sleet/ice.  ;)

I like to watch it snow.  I like that it will all be a distant memory by Saturday morning even more.

They were big fat snow flakes today.  I thought you were on the northern side of things like BEG?

No, dear, I am east of Dallas.  The east side never gets in on the fun.

I remember when I was a kid living in Oak Cliff I saw it snowing in our backyard but not in the front yard.

You forget I'm originally from Omaha, I know my snow.

When it snows at the most once a year where you live you tend to get a little excited about it.     Earlier today I was making fun of the schools because they were calling everyone to come pick up the kids about three hours early.  When I was a kid I walked to school (up hill no less) in a blizzard.  My Mom was trying to drive us but her car wouldn't make it up the hill so we walked the rest of the way.  It starts to snow here and and hour later the whole city is shut down.

But that's normal.  Folks living where snow is part of their lives is abnormal.  When snow is no longer a treat, it sucks.

Hey, Frank.  Here is something that may help you a little.  Like I said in another thread, depending on who you talk to Texas will have 5 or 7 regions.

If you look at the area labeled 'Piney Woods' this is typically known as East Texas.  Deep East Texas is where I live.  Dallas, in this drawing is in the 'Prairies and Lakes' section and would be North East .... Or North Texas depending on who you are talking to.

Anyway, thought this might help you.  There are better region maps that will list the regions as East, North, West, South, Hill Country (central), etc....

Good Luck!

It makes you feel sorry for Colorado.  I use to tell folks I had a lighter in the shape of Colorado.  They would enthusiastically ask to see it.  I would pull out my old Zippo and turn it sideways.
