Politico linkSen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) concedes that Republican senators won’t be able to stop Democratic health care reform legislation from passing the Senate before Christmas.
“We will fight until the last vote,†McCain told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace. “We owe that to our constituents, because we must do everything – we must look back and say we did everything to prevent this terrible mistake from taking place.â€
Democrats recently reached a deal with hold out members of their own caucus to cobble together the 60 votes necessary to pass the bill - and McCain, in response to a Wallace question, said there’s “probably not†anything the GOP can do to block the bill. “But what we can do is continue winning the battle of American public opinion.â€

THE PEOPLE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THIS MONSTROSITY NOW, BUT WE CAN REVERSE IT IN 2010 AND 2012. I AM NOT POLITICALLY ACTIVE AS A MIDDLE CLASS WORKING PERSON, I DON'T GOT TIME. I TRUSTED YOU, BUT NOW I WILL MAKE TIME, AND I WILL POLITICALLY ACTIVE NOW!!! WE WILL CRUSH YOU, YOU ELITIST SCUM BAG CROOKS!!! STOP WASTING OUR MONEY AND SPENDING US INTO OBLITERATION!!! THE PEOPLE UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that doesn't sum up what has happened to this country the last forty years, then I don't know what does. We all could probably name lots of people who complain about taxes, government intrusion, etc. yet will vote for the most shallow of politicians or not vote at all. How many people still think democrats are "for the poor?" I still hear that. I tell them that of course democrats are for the poor, it's how they stay in power. If democrats were really "for the poor", they would be doing everything they could to make those people rise up out of poverty. Instead, they do everything they can to keep the poor people poor, and make new poor people.
With the mountain of government suppression, what more will it take for people to wake up?
