The poll should say..

I want free health care paid for by the "rich" so I...

1)Don`t have to have a job

2)Can have more money for weed

3)Can be declared unable to work (takes a lot of visits to a doctor for that)

4)All of the above.

As a general rule, health insurance requires gainful employment, so I'm pretty sure the number will be low.
Never demand that which you are incapable of taking by force, DUmmie.

Not exactly....health insurance is not a given just because one is "gainfully employed"....

Self-employed means you have to pay a whole big bunch for health insurance or do without.

Employed by a company that has health insurance as a benefit is a good thing.

Employed by a company that does not have health insurance as a benefit means you pay a whole big bunch for health insurance or do without.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I have employer insurance. I pay about a third of the premiums. Florida has it's own Group and while you pay the whole nut it isn't really that bad.

Ah...

In TN....paying for private health insurance is horrible. I had BCBS of TN and quit when my monthly premiums went to almost $500 a month with a $10,000 deductible.

The only claims I was turning in were routine yearly physicals and mammograms. Two of my Rx's are less without insurance than they were with ...and one is double what it was with insurance. I am below average for weight and have low blood pressure and sugar.

But because of my age and gender....I was getting screwed.

I'm inclined to think that if most states did what Fl did then this whole healthcare debacle could be avoided.

Except for a 5 yr period of group insurance then COBRA....I've been on my own getting insurance since I got divorced in '92.  It sucks.

I had private insurance when I had a hysterectomy ....and ended up having to pay 50% over and above my deductible.  :censored:

Until tort reform and insurance available only within the state of residence are resolved....no matter what Obama and his merry band of idiots do....it won't solve the health care issues.

Frivolous lawsuits have to be outlawed or health care costs will continue to increase no matter what else happens.

I have no problem with paying for my own insurance....I just want reasonable rates.

When I was denied insurance coverage because I had 3 lumpectomies in 2 years unless I wanted to pay over $1000 a month... I called the state Dept of Commerce in Nashville.

I spoke to a really nice lady there. She said that state law required the insurance companies to OFFER insurance, but the state had no control over how much the insurance coverage cost.

She told me to take the insurance with an exclusion of no coverage on my breasts, so that the insurance was affordable. And if I ended up with breast cancer to apply for TennCare to cover my medical fees....that TennCare would pay after the fact.

I did as she suggested...and thank God I didn't need the TennCare coverage. I'm now over 10 years since, so I can get coverage, but my cost is still affected.

Oh...and by the way....TennCare virtually bankrupted the state until the state reformed TennCare. Which is why most people around here are against the health care bill....we know what harm it can do....

I read today that allowing insurance companies to sell across state lines is in the HCR bill, but some Dims want it removed.

If insurance could be sold across state lines and tort reform was done...there would be no reason for a health care bill.

Obama and his merry band of idiots were elected partially because they promised health care reform.

There is no way they will voluntarily give up trying to get a health care bill....they want to be able to say they tried.

Nor are they going to upset the American Association of Trial Lawyers by trying to institute tort reform.

The problem is....with the economy and job situation the way it is....their constituents are losing their desire for health care reform. They are a whole lot more concerned with keeping their jobs, homes and being able to pay their bills.

The longer the MB of I keep focusing on health care reform and letting everything else slide...the more they are losing the support of their constituents.

Obama and his MB of I are getting caught up in a catch-22 that is spinning and spinning out of control....

It's a beautiful thing.... :evillaugh:

This is from a thread on the DUmp.
Quote
(b) Authority for Nationwide Plans-
(1) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in paragraph (2), if an issuer (including a group of health insurance issuers affiliated either by common ownership and control or by the common use of a nationally licensed service mark) of a qualified health plan in the individual or small group market meets the requirements of this subsection (in this subsection a `nationwide qualified health plan’)–
(A) the issuer of the plan may offer the nationwide qualified health plan in the individual or small group market in more than 1 State; and
(B) with respect to State laws mandating benefit coverage by a health plan, only the State laws of the State in which such plan is written or issued shall apply to the nationwide qualified health plan.

If the quoted part is right and true, then it seems like companies would be allowed to sell across state lines provided they met the minimum plans required by the new bill.
