I'll give the President a little credit

If he wanted to expose what an evil sick place the US Government is when it comes to elected leaders. Mission fully accomplished. If he wanted to put a spot-light on scum. Mission accomplished.

I think people were under a delusion that it was the Republicans that were just the problem. 8 years later you take a look at what Democrats are doing and all you can say is ****.

There is one political party in America. The money party and it has two co-equal subsidiaries.

1. guess it exposes the ones who are controlled by $$$ quite well

also, a year into this mess, it also exposes people with blind allegiance to the WH, and those who are more thoughtful on issues, and many here who truly have a plethora of knowledge about the issues compared to the worst of the elected hacks.

2. The idea we don't have our own equivalent of idiot evangelicals

Is certainly out the window.

The only difference is social issues between the two political parties. Economically they are both vested in protecting the same people.

3. sums it up well. and even with many Dems in the Senate/House who are believers in whatever faith, most don't have a sickening closed-minded view on issues like a few select Dems who make me nauseous, do! Those select few need to be exposed as hacks and corporate shills.

I love what Al Franken did to one of the nuttiest slimeballs of the senate yesterday - that was GREAT!

Franken: "I object." Joementum: "REALLLLY! Okay, I don't take it personally." Franken: "I bet."

4. They're all filthy.

Obama is too. He took money from the Gold Sacks just like Congress took money from the insurance companies. Until we have federally financed elections, we're just gonna see more of the same. Until we clean up the corruption, all our work and our votes are in vain.

7. it's only Dem party loyalists that have thought only Repubs were the problem

I've always said for decades the Dem party has been taken over by corporatists. For decades, my entire voting life, I have ALWAYS had to vote for "Candidate Not As Bad As" rather than one that actually represented the working masses. NONE of this shit was a surprise to me seeing as I've known since Reagan that there IS no party that represents the average working stiff.

Most people aren't party loyalists either Dem or Repub and vote for whoever seems less of a shithead or they vote on a single wedge issue or they don't vote at all because most people realize that politics is a racket and politicians are lying slobs that don't give a rat's patoot about good government for the people and they're all drunk on their own power and greed.

8. He has also given lie to the fantasy on the left that our winning a single election is sufficient for broad scale change. Folks love to go on about FDR as a model. It is however important to remember that FDR's best work was done with only 16 Republicans in the Senate, not 40.

That was 17 Republican senators 1937-1939.

I don't think his definition of "corruption" would be the same as ours.

Sweet, Sweeeeeet tears.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I have read several threads on the Island where DUmmies have admitted that they would accept corruption if it means getting their agenda through congress.  They are willing to overlook the obvious corruption in ACORN, just because they are on the same side.

Corruption to the DUmmies is when politicians do not do what DUmmies want.

Corruption to the DUmmies is when politicians do not do what DUmmies want.

I think they can recognize it, but when it suits them, they don't care.
