Yeah, southeastern Nebraska tends to be the most earthquake-prone area in Nebraska; it has something to do with being located right next door to Missouri.

HOWEVER, the biggest earthquake, ever, in the history of Nebraska, took place clear over at the opposite end, in northwestern Nebraska, in 1964.

The Great Merriman Earthquake.

We have a member here who was not only a survivor of that, but also whose home was practically the epicenter of it.

That is a Quaternary age fault system you got there, frank.  Very young by geologic standards.  Poorly mapped and documented.  Since they are so young, it's hard to tell what they may end up doing. 

You're not that far from the MAJOR Madrid fault system over in Missouri, these could be related to that system, and it's quite earthquake prone.

It's a good thing this didn't happen in the Spring.  We'd have corn kernels EVERYWHERE.

We've felt quakes from the New Madrid fault in Missouri. The last noticeable one was 2 years ago I think.

You would be surpised how parts of the midwest is over fault lines, a big one in Missouri. There is also a random one in central Virginia. I am not looking forward to my first here in CA. :( Glad you are okay, frank!
