How to postpone the 2010 elections until 2011   Updated at 8:02 AM

It is obvious that the criminal republican elements are stoking the fires everywhere, and planning to subvert the 2010 elections by placing their drones in the Congress through massive voting fraud. I wish to Gaea I didn't have to recommend this action. By now the republican party should have been so tied up in knots in all the courts in the country that we would never have the need to provide the republican criminals the opportunity to subvert the will of the American and global citizens.
For the first time in history, I feel that we should suspend an election until we can GUARANTEE the result of the voting would be fair and just. The only way such a result would happen is if the progressives maintained and, in fact, increased power in both the House and the Senate. Such a result will guarantee the implementation of our progressive health care, environmental, and corporate conversions to that of a solid foundation, while ensuring the criminal republican capitalists do not disrupt the process which would only benefit the fat cat republican corporate billionaires at the expense of the vast majority of progressive, middle class people.

As it stands now, the republicans have, through irresponsible and borderline Internet activity, talk radio, and Fox News (which should be regulated and neutered), started to line up candidates for next year's election.

So I say: What can we do to delay the election? I've studied the Constitution; there are precedents in place that can allow the president to circumvent the process, but it would take a supermajority in the senate (as it stands now), as well as a simple majority in Congress, to stop federal elections.

In addition, the President can even declare emergencies that would preclude the congressional election cycle. Such emergencies would not have to be limited to acts of war against the US, but any number of reasons.

Let's brainstorm this obvious necessity and see what we can come up with.
Amazingly some sense is spoken at DU

Look, I know you all are angry. And you think that my idea is a bust. Normally I would agree, but this is a crisis situation. We have an OVERWHELMING majority in the house and the senate, and have a president who, for the first time since Kennedy, has encouraged the world to enter into a dialogue with us.

So HOW IN HELL are the republicans creating anger? They should have NO BUSINESS doing ANYTHING in Congress. They should have NO BUSINESS doing ANYTHING at any federal lawmaking level. They should be completely and absolutely shut out of the process. So WHY ARE THEY CREATING THE ATMOSPHERE OF HATE?

((sigh))

But it appears that even OUR guys are sandbagging it at our expense, to a certain degree. But I remember 1994 like it was yesterday, and frankly I'm at a loss as to what to do anymore. If you have cops whom are firmly in the pocket for the criminal element, then obviously the laws have to change to protect the masses. We are at such a point with votes being manipulated and stolen during the election cycles, and we need the adults to put a stop to this nonsense. I am good with skipping an election cycle to stableize and finalize a progressive direction that we VOTED FOR OVERWHELMINGLY, but is OBVIOUSLY being HIJACKED by the criminal republican element. That's all I'm saying. These bastard republicans have stolen our jobs, our wealth, and our planet, and they need to pay.

So let's not thrown names around, let's see how this can be done LEGALLY, either legislatively or through the courts.

Now now, halfwit here has a plan I can support and encourage -- let's help him find many equally halfwit like minded members of Congress to embrace this.....

Once done we will take back Congress in landslide elections across the country.    Excellent..  Mwuahahahahahaha.

9. I think this is meant as satire...
Remember how elements in the Republican Party were calling for "postponing" the 2006 midterms in case of heightened terror alert warning

No, I don't remember that at all, but I would love to read about it.  Can you point me to where you read about or heard about this little piece of political history.  I want to know who makes up this "elements in the Republican Party".

It's a mole.

Not a very good one, either.  Too hasty to get DUmp cred.  Said mole should have waited until it had 1000+ posts.

Has to be.  Should have gone over the thousand post mark before going large like that.

I would LOVE to see the Dems try this.  They would get an incredibly valuable education on the Law of Unintended Consequences.

That's one of the immoveable laws that the primitives don't get, though.

Too bad that most of them wouldn't be alive to see it, and appreciate that this is one of those reasons for the 2nd Amendment being in the BOR.

What "will of the people" is this moron talking about?  The majority of "The People" have clearly expressed their disapproval of Obamacare, and yet here we are, with the Democrats/liberals continuing to try and force-f**k it down everyones' throats.  The will of the DU minority is the will of "some people" (technically speaking, they still are "people"), not the will of "The People."

I'll go with others: probably a mole.  But, I have no doubt that if the primitives and libs in this country thought they could do what was suggested and get away with it, they'd do it despite those on the thread who are claiming otherwise.

Yea, or less than one, I agree.
Started out good and the mole made a good attempt but too many over the top "kill the Rethuglicans" statements.
Good premise with the first strike - suspend the elections crap which is a guarntee buy-in for the DUmmys but to much kill the opposition rhetoric. This mole definitely needs some mole school.

That is stoopid. Even for a DUmmie.
