Potentially they're going to drop your coverage, because they just can't afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year. And the federal government will go bankrupt, because Medicare and Medicaid are on a trajectory that are unsustainable, and this actually provides us the best chance of starting to bend the cost curve on the government expenditures in Medicare and Medicaid.

So anybody who says that they are concerned about the deficit, concerned about debt, concerned about loading up taxes on future generations, you have to be supportive of this health care bill, because if we don't do this, nobody argues with the fact that health care costs are going to consume the entire federal budget.

I don't think so. There comes a time when even the most brain dead syncophant cannot swallow something so blatantly a lie and a scare tactic. When I heard the clip of this on the radio earlier today, I thought to myself, how can the DUmmies possibly swallow this one?

Your final phrase left an image seared  into my mind's eye and there is not enough eye bleach to cleanse it.  How much can a dummy swallow?  I shudder to think.

It was a crisp 9 degrees Fahrenheit this morning here on the NH coast.  Bet it was colder inland an up country.  The B-girl didn't mind wearing her sweater. (yes, she is a  big wuss as beagles go )  Thank Algore an global climate change lest we all should freeze our to death.

Well 9 is downright balmy. It was 1 degree F here on Lake Champlain. My dog (half husky mind you) ran out, squatted, and was back at the door whimpering within a minute.

In addition to that I submit insurance disguises trie market costs because the patient doesn't see a procedure as costing X but only premium Y and co-pay Z.

If we were smart we'd pay out of pocket for routine and non-catstrophic visits/procedures and--as you suggest--end government imposed in-state monopolies.

individual deductions, rather than business
