I Predict In 20 Years People Will Look Back and Say ....

Climate Change was so obvious back then how could they have had doubts and refused to do anything about it.

You mean there used to be more than 3 Major Banks?

Those 9 inch heels women were wearing back then were not functional, made women walk funny, and contributed to an overabundance of orthopaedic injuries.

GO AHEAD ---make your own predictions!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7197055

What is it with you DUmmies and climate change anyway? Since the 80's we have been told in the next decade the world will be destroyed by cow farts killing polar bears. More than 20 years have passed and the oceans aren't dead life is still flourishing all over the world. You were wrong 20 years and you are wrong now.

And if dems retain power we will have one bank run by Obama. Giving loans to poor people and charging rich people huge fees to cover the loans to poor people.

You gotta be kidding. Next thing, you'll try to tell me that there used to be ice in the Arctic.........

Yeah because Algore said 40% of the ice caps is gone it must be true. Maybe it's the temperature of the inside of the earth being several millions of degrees that is melting that 40% of the ice.

20. Yep - in Star Trek they didn't abandon the money economy until

the 22nd century.

well gee if it was in star trek it must be good then. I hate to tell you dummies but the transporter device and people working just for the benefit of the common good and no personal gain is pure fiction.

Look to Star Trek for the model. Everything is automated to the point where people choose to do what they want to do, when they want to do it. You don't work for you living, you live the life you choose. And people choose to be productive in their own way. No money problems, so no theft, no corruption, no poverty, and none of the other problems money causes.

Star trek is fiction dumbass. The society you see in the show and movies will not be successful if people don't have incentive to do things then they don't bother. Just like when you buy your dope on the first of the month you dont do anything but lounge around after you light up.

He's already been through three Vice-Presidents, and I have to say; I think Michelle has been the best one by far.

Can you believe the response the Draft Malia for President movement is getting? Good thing we were able to ratify the 28th Amendment removing the age limit for eligibility!

Only in your wet dreams DUmmy as it stands now you will be lucky if he gets a second term.

It is hard to grasp where these folks get these things from.
I couldn`t care less right now what I may be saying in 20 years.
Sure I could come up with political "buzz" statements to get all kinds of back slaps but what of it.

The one that thinks Star Trek is a realistic model of a society really takes the cake btw.
That is a special kind of stupid right there. ::)

I predict a landslide loss in 2012 to a strong conservative and that Carter and Mondale will be smiling.

The funny thing about Star Trek is that it's virtually assured nobody worked for free.  Going artifact hunting on some backwater planet costs money, and the Federation sure didn't sent Picard out to do that, which means he spent money to do it.  Kirk would have thought the notion of working for the common betterment to be an absurdity.  Cisco's station featured a promenade with private shops and a prominent bar staffed with platinum obsessed Fergei.  Janeway surely wasn't travelling across the Galaxy for less than $10 a day.  Lastly, Archer mentioned his superiors as ahving a higher pay grade at one point.

Even the people who write Star Trek were able to see how working for the common good would actually work out.

This of course works perfectly in a TV show script or a fairy tale but in real life would mean that roads which need repair in 90 degree heat will go to ruin, garbage and sewage will simply collect where it is left and so on.
Not one DUmmy would ever "choose" to be productive in a manner that is difficult or unpleasant and very few of the rest of us would either if we didn`t have to.
Human nature is what it is and for any person to consider that a realistic picture of a functioning society is simply idiotic beyond description.

At some point there has to be,just has to be a bottom to the well of stupidity that flows from the DUmp but by God it sure is a long ways down.

I've been toying with the idea of founding a company to produce robots that could do a lot of that stuff.  Just like checkouts could be automated so that all the customer needs to do is walk through a gate and swipea card to pay for checkouts, if stores wanted to do it.
