I just broke my DU cherry. I've read posts others have made here, and have occasionally rowed over to the island to go more in depth, but I've never once gone looking for DUmmie gold. I know this won't be the greatest post ever brought back from the wilderness, but it is my first try and the comedic value is definitely there.

Thank You President Obama

Dear President Obama,
Although I know you probably won't read this letter, I would like to take a moment out of my day to thank you for all the hard work you have done for this country since we elected you. While I cannot say I agree with all of your decisions, I will say I believe you have put in countless hours and thoughtful consideration into everything you have done; which is much more than anyone could say about your predecessor.
We elected you to bring about change in this country; change we desperately needed. And while you cannot do it all yourself, or do it all as fast as it is needed, you are clearly doing everything in your power to restore this country to what it was supposed to be. I, like millions of other applaud you for that and are very appreciative of your efforts.
As those in the Reich Wing try to take you down and try to derail all of your efforts, and as the media tries to paint you as something you are not while they ignore your many many achievements, please know that those of us who voted for you see everything you are doing.
We know the road it long and the journey will not be easy, but if you continue to work to make the much needed improvements this country needs, know that we stand by your efforts and will fight with you to restore the United States of America to the envy of the world as the Land of the Free and The Home of the Brave.
Sincerely,
A Proud Citizen
Most of it's a bunch of "I agrees" and "Good jobs" but there's a few gems.

6. Welcome to DU.
What a nice OP. I, too, take comfort in the fact that we have an adult in charge. I can't imagine what he has to do each day- the decisions, trying to unfurl all the messes left behind. It is just incomprehensible to me. I am glad we have someone wise leading us. While I may not understand all the decisions, this time around, I feel like he is making decisions based on facts, not from visions or conversations with God, or PNAC, or whatever. And while I wish things would move faster, I also think that he wishes things would move faster, too.

21. I read the piece in the NYTimes this morning about how the recent decision
on Afghanistan was arrived at. I was very proud to have voted for him.
Rahm flipped a coin and told him what to do.
