A hot pie tossed on a woman’s face Thanksgiving Day caused first- and second-degree burns, leading to an arrest warrant issued for her brother, authorities said Monday.

Galveston County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called about 2 p.m. to the 16700 block of Fir Road in unincorporated Galveston County near Santa Fe, sheriff’s Capt. Barry Cook said.

“They had been arguing over the past two weeks over their children staying with grandparents overnight at the same time,” Cook said. “She told him they were too old to be watching both kids at the same time.”
