So Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, and all the usual suspects claim that the Corps of Cadets was "cool" ...
to President Obama last night. Their hypothesis is that the military does not respect the Commander-in-Chief.
Their hypothesis is correct....
Zero is such a looser, such an empty suit, such a liar, that only the cadets superb military training kept one of them from pulling a Joe Wilson....
Here's a different perspective.
If, in a different reality, I had once been a 21 year-old warrior-in-waiting, I too might have preferred a more swaggering, tough-talking C-in-C. Perhaps, God help me, something along the lines of "Bring it on!"
But you see, by the time I was 21, I had already been to war. I had watched friends die, dug through steaming piles of meat searching for a dog tag, and been wounded twice. When I was 21 I had seen enough swagger to last me a lifetime.
IF, (big IF) this is true, then you must have served in Vietnam under Johnson, who's only right to the swagger was he was from Texas, vs. Zero, who has heard of Texas and thinks Texas is one of the 57 states....
I would like to think that when the young men and women at West Point last night have the time to reflect, perhaps even years from now, upon what they heard last night; they will be grateful that they were commanded by a man who preferred reflection and thoughtfulness to faux-cowboy bullshit. A man who sent them to war, not because of unresolved mommy issues, but because he felt it was a necessary evil.
The cadets would have preferred a REAL MAN, a man like Bush, who made decisions quickly, promptly, and didn't try to "hedge his bets" to keep his base pacified. "Reflection and thoughtfulness" will get a lot of them killed when a C-I-C takes 6 months to make a decision that should have only taken 6 minutes....
Say what you want about GWB's National Guard service, but at least he wore the uniform, did the training, flew the jets. Zero merely listened to communist lite radicals, pissed on the flag, and rode a jet to West Point....
But that's just me.
And little else....
