Florida - Alabama.....is the SEC Championship Game and will be held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta @ 4pm EDT.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I see Alabama's the home team, but it's being played in Georgia, which is not in Florida.  It's really nice to see a game ostensibly at a "neutral" site actually being played at an authentically neutral site.

Glad to see this game finally being played. It was tiresome seeing both teams being shielded by officials from being upset for the entire second half of the season.

Should be a great game.....I, however...will be arriving in Grand Island Nebraska right about kick-off, to help my youngest move back home after 7 years!!!!  :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Cincinnati (11-0) at Pittsburgh (9-2) Game of the week?

I think a case can be made that neither Florida, nor Bama will fall below the Bearcats if one loses to the other. (nor, maybe, should they) Winner should get Texas for the championship. However a Cincy loss could send them tumbling despite Pitts high ranking.

What is the talk up there in Cincy about Kelly to ND? Think it'll be a distraction?

Whoever loses the SEC championship game will certainly fall...but how far?  I would slot the "loser" below all the undefeated teams, and I suspect that's what most voters will do.

Isn't it quite odd that there are no teams with 1 loss, but 6 with none and a bunch with 2 losses?

I wouldn't. Below TCU? Yes. Below Boise? Hell no. Either one of the top contenders in the SEC would wax the floor with Boise.

I'm obviously biased, so I won't comment much further.  I'm just not that kind of guy to put on the myopic glasses and tell everyone how my school is so much better than others.  I just wish this could be settled on the field rather than via the polls.

It's really nice to see a game ostensibly at a "neutral" site actually being played at an authentically neutral site.

You might already be aware that these games are all at neutral sites in that they are not at any team's home field.

Florida (12-0) at Alabama (12-0)
Georgia Tech (10-2) at Clemson (8-4)
Nebraska (9-3) at Texas (12-0)

I'll be pulling for UF, but if they don't bring their "A" game then Bama will beat them.  GT should beat Clemson.  Texas should beat Nebraska.

The Oregon-Oregon State winner will go to the Rose Bowl.  The Cinn-Pitt game should be very good.

You may have misread. When Florida or Alabama loses, I'd rank them high, but lower than TCU. I would not, however, bump them lower than Boise State. The reason should be clear:

TCU's schedule:

BSU's cupcake schedule:

http://espn.go.com/ncf/teams/schedule?teamId=68

Florida's schedule:

http://espn.go.com/ncf/teams/schedule?teamId=57

Alabamastan's schedule:

Well, Nebraska's a 15-point underdog against Texas at Texas this weekend, which sounds reasonable.

But we'll see.

I'm not saying Nebraska is going to, or can, win, but we'll see.

It's true that Nebraska's a 15-point underdog against Texas in Dallas this weekend, but I'm betting they'll give them a game.  NU's defense is good.

You know, life in Nebraska was peachy-keen back when Oklahoma dealt with Texas, and Nebraska dealt with Oklahoma--the pre-Big 12 days.

It's really irksome now, having to deal with Texas; that's Oklahoma's job.

I'm not expecting much, although of course miracles do happen, and have happened.

Texas is expected to run all over Nebraska, and if they do less than that, well, I guess it would show Texas isn't as great as Texas thinks it is.   My standard is, if Texas beats Nebraska by less than 45 points, well, I guess Texas is overblown.

Tonight's game--the only one--involves Ohio at Central Michigan.

Ohio of course is directed by the real Frank Solich, a gentleman of impeccable quality and character and class.

Arkansas State 24, Western Kentucky 20, final, last night.

Oregon State 33, Oregon 37, final, last night.

There goes my 9,000 dollars. Here's hoping I meet the spread on all others. 12-0 pays 900-1. 11-1 pays 100-1. 10-2 pays 3-1.

I took CMU with -13.5. They only beat'em by 10.
