DUmmy ThomWV, who claims to have pulled his own teeth, now worn as a necklace, spins a feel-good Thanksgiving tale. One can only suppose that the effects of his home dental treatment limit Dummy Thom WV to creamed turkey soup on Thanksgiving.

I thought I'd tell you about something nice a guy I know does every year
A guy we know owns a very nice restaurant, indeed its the very best one in the town. It is his whole life and because of outstanding product and service he has done very well.
His place isn't opened on Thanksgiving, not to the paying public that is. For the last 20 years he has served an early dinner to all of the residents of the local shelter who would like to come. No expense is spared and no charge is made. Dinner is served at 3:00 pm. There is no publicity for this event and appropriately it has never been reported in the news. A number of people lend a hand in the kitchen or as wait staff, but make no mistake, this is the guy who owns the restaurants deal.
Its just a nice thing and I thought it would brighten your day to know about it.
On Edit: About 30 people show up, usually about half of them are kids.

7. Very nice. I observed something similar one Christmas day while traveling in Kansas.
I was on Interstate 70 driving west. I stopped around noon to find some food (bad planning on my part) but found an open restaurant attached to a motel. The place was packed, and I was told I would be waiting 25 minutes to sit. As I waited, an apparently homeless guy (dressed the part, unshaven, coat was a bit light for the weather) came in. The manager nodded to him, took him to a small table, and he had food in less than five minutes. He was treated warmly by the staff, and he left without having to pay a nickel.
The proprietor is trying to give Buzz a message, by seating a wino ahead of him, but the message sails right over his head.
