4. I wondered who chose 'stellar'.

You "don't disappoint" vadawg. You're very consistent, I'll "give" you that.

14. "Other" because I am moving to Europe.

If I were staying here I would have voted "questionable".

16. Things are picking up for the company I work for, and as more baby boomers . . .

Retire, the pool of expertise gets shallower and shallower. We're aggressively hiring and mentoring the folks we have hired, and they're likely to be put in positions of leadership several years earlier than they would have been when I was at the same state of career progression that they are now.

Suffice it to say that in a company of 44,000 people scattered all over the globe, there are maybe 100 who can do what I do, and I do it better than most of them. I should be OK unless the other shoe drops and the economy double-tanks.

18. It's mostly out of control for everyone-most people don't realise that.

19. The future does not look good. This is why it is IMPORTANT to have good friends and family.

The current balance of power in the world is starting to shift away from the US. New, emerging world powers like China, India, etc. want recognition and want a reputation of their own. They will begin to exert influence and power in parts of the world that the US has traditionally exerted its own influence in. This can end either with the US accepting that it is no longer undisputed king and acquiescing to the new upstarts, or it can end in destructive trade wars and local civil wars that become proxies for world power conflicts (Viet Nam War as an example).

All empires crumble. The US is not a traditional empire in that it captures land, installs a garrison on top of that land, and attempts to assimilate the captive population. This isn't the Age of Conquest or the Greco-Roman Era. Empires nowadays are built on money and nothing more. Armies are just enforcers of money politics, with corporations being the primary vehicles of the wealthy, yet the US, just like any empire of old, seeks power and dominance over others weaker than itself, typically having US corporations moving into impoverished regions of the world to exploit its labor pool and drain its resources to the detriment of the locals.

I've long ago come to realize how irreversible the workings of an empire are. Once a nation becomes an empire, historically, it often kicks and screams when the power is taken away or lost, and the thrashing around typically destroys what is left. In its place, a hollowed-out state that can barely be called functional. I feel that when the end comes, the powerful who run this country will not accept that they are no longer lords of the world, and they will resist violently against a world that no longer simply bows to American wishes.

If that is the case, the transition, this entire century, will be a century of warfare. In 20 or 30 years, we may very well end up in another stupid conflict in a remote corner of the world, and your friends and family will be sent to fight and die for idiotic reasons. For this reason, it is important that you find yourself a good family and good friends to be with, to pass the times that inevitably come. Maybe you will find love. For the rest who will never find love, maybe we'll find something worthy of our time, that in the end, we can all look back and still be surprised and satisfied.

When the end comes, whatever form it may be, be happy that you spent all that time before in a manner worthy of being called a good life.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

"There is still unlimited opportunity in America and I plan to take advantage of it"!

Obama promised me a pony too.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
