DUmmies Discuss LA Times Bouncy On Starving Moonbats

Just to prove that the DUmp doesn't have a monopoly on bouncy tales, DUmmy marmar cuts and pastes an LA Times bouncy:

Los Angeles Times: More Americans feel economic pinch in their stomachs
More Americans feel economic pinch in their stomachs
November 16, 2009 | 10:23 am

More Americans last year lacked the ability to put adequate food on their tables than in any year since the federal government began monitoring food insecurity, according to a government report today.

The report, posted on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s website, blamed the current recession for the increasing number of people who are having difficulty meeting their dietary needs.

“The recent economic downturn has brought a sharp increase in the number of Americans who report having difficulty meeting their food needs,” said the report. “In fact, in 2008, the number and percentage of U.S. households classified as ‘food insecure’ reached the highest level recorded since federal monitoring of food insecurity began in 1995.”

Food insecurity is generally defined as “inadequate or unsure access to enough food for active, healthy living.” It can manifest itself as not having enough money to buy food through the month or having to eat less or ingesting poorer-quality food to make ends meet. ...........(more)

We had the last of the jumbo shrimp at dinner last night, and I'm not planning to go grocery shopping until Wednesday. To top that off, this evening we had a sirloin roast, baked potatoes, and steamed asparagus with hollandaise sauce, which probably qualifies as poorer-quality than the creole shrimp last night. My family is probably on this democrat list of starving Americans.

1. This is completely unacceptable!
Those bankers should not be getting bonuses when Americans go hungry and the fact that this needs to be said is outrageous.

Right on! If those damn bankers didn't get bonuses, I would have bought four pounds of jumbo shrimp last week instead of two, and we'd have a couple of pounds left.

2. Those Bankers should be strung out as Examples
or all the other greedy motherf*ckers out there...
sorry, I'm a bit pissed.

Greedy, that's all they are! And Bushco is probably playing golf this week, while American moonbats starve.

3. The mood out here in the world (at least the part I'm in) is furious.
If we keep whistling past the grave yard we might find ourselves permanent residents.
I'm willing to bet the part of the world DUmmy Greyhound is in includes a lot of single-wides, and he's surely a permanent resident of the trailer park.

4. Almost one out of every 4 children
22.5% of kids in 2008. 2009 numbers will be worse.

Not only that, but in 2009, 50% of all kids fall below the median. If those damn bankers were not so greedy, all of our kids would be above average, just like the kids in Lake Woebegon, which by the way is over 98% white.

5. This speaks to Derby and I
We go too many nights in the last couple of weeks eating hot pockets
for supper. That's after getting fries only for lunch. If it's not
hot pockets, then it's peanut butter sandwiches.

Some of it is medical bills (well, a LOT of it) and a lot of it is
having to take care of my father. We can't afford the initial output
it would take to stock our fridge and neither of us can cook.

It sucks. I've gone to bed hungry and didn't tell Derby because he
would worry.

It's those damn bankers again. But I have to admit a little pity for anyone who actually eats Hot Pockets.

How many people could have been fed with the money of the 0Bama's date night flight to NYC?  How many could be fed with the money he spent on imported beef, or flying a pizza chef from St. Louis?

I'm in luck!  My wife thinks Hot-Pockets are the cat's meow!  The only problem is, they aren't a bargain at all.

Funny how the most intelligent among us as they declare themselves are somehow destitute and going hungry. :whatever:

According to this thread , some of the DUmmies are quite well fed and could probably benefit from starvation dieting.

ChickMagic goes to bed hungry yet she not only donates to the fund drive but subscribes to DU.

There's just no compassion here. I'm going to wake up tomorrow to a refrigerator without prawns, and no one cares. No wonder the DUmmies are on the verge of taking to the streets. Or something, dude.

I went to all those bonfires, hoping to find out what the Vegas blimp spends on groceries and eating-out every month.

Alas, the Vegas blimp seems to be absent, and there haven't been any updates on his encouraging progress in losing weight.

One wonders if the Vegas blimp has landed on a plateau, and is getting discouraged.

I'm concerned, because right after the holidays, and right after the Vegas blimp reaches 400, it would be a good time for him to dust off the resume and pound the pavements looking for a job, so as to take pressure off his long-suffering wife.

Only in America can the poor be both overweight and going hungry at the same time......is this a great country or what?

The bankers will have to wait.  If there's another Jeffersonian revolution, the lawyers get shot first, specifically those who are with the ACLU.

Well, that picture of Derby sure got me hot under the collar.

That post from Chickmagic really takes the cake, doesn't it?  All those processed foods are pretty expensive.  It is not that hard to learn how to cook, and it's been done since time immemorial.  They could even take the initiative and visit the cooking and baking forum on DU.  I'm sure hippywife grandma would be happy to provide patient guidance.  She may be a moonbat, but she seems like a decent person.

Wow. I had not looked at those links. I'm surprised a lowlife dork like Derby could get a classy lady so..uh...agitated.

I suggest that DUmmy Chickmagic come over here and get cooking instruction from coach. He's an accomplished chef and a nice guy. But far more importantly for DUmmy Chickmagic, he has a well-stocked cooler, a nice home, some kind of odd fetish for left-leaning poon, and he's horny as a herd of reindeer. Hot Pockets would not begin to describe the menu.

For going to bed hungry all the time there sure are a lot of whales at the DUmp.

I guess in Obamaspeak being morbidly fat is, in reality, starving.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Just think of the dishes she could have made with that pumpkin instead of going hungry. Hot pockets are expensive pieces of crap too, btw. Oh, but yeah, I'm  :bawl: for her.
