I know I'm gonna get torn a new one for this from the other members here that have served with distinction in the ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE and COAST GUARD, but here it goes: This woulda never happened on a Marine base. The second that POS started firing we'd have been on him like flies on a turd. And he would'nt be alive now.

Well, you may be right there, Marine, but everybody's a hero before there is actually an armed grenade to land on, they get a lot scarcer at that point.  It's hard to say about that kind of stuff until it actually happens, and God forbid it ever comes up again.  What he shot up was, as I understand it, a processing center, moving out a bunch of people all mixed up together, it wasn't like he did it in the middle of a formation of people who all knew and depended on each other.
