and then we would have billions/trillions of dollars to put to work on health care (with a public option) and putting people back to work with a HUGE jobs program--which we need. And on top of that our soldiers wouldn't be coming home in pine boxes.

End of rant.

13. Several weeks ago, when Obama went out and met the troops that were coming home in boxes
Edited on Fri Nov-13-09 01:09 AM by truedelphi
I felt slightly off kilter for the rest of the day.

Then I realized, the mad, sad moment of Obama meeting the fallen troops was a fulfillment of a statement a friend, someone more cynical than me, had proclaimed way back in the second or third week of November 2008.

"It's great to be rid of Bush, but I'm scared Obama will only provide cosmetic changes."

So we still have the two wars, but now we get to have photos of the caskets, and a President who occassionally goes out and meets them.

I cannot for the life of me think of a situation that exemplifies the cosmetic changes more than that one.

Yeah that hope n change really paid out for you  :lmao:

And you are right we have a president who occasionally goes and sees the troops instead of one who did it all the time.

17. 8 years is enough of blood and waste of life.
and Karzai is a corrupt SOB.

So they have something in common with us, a corrupt leader.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
