U.S. Army: Troop morale falls in Afghanistan
WASHINGTON - Morale has fallen among soldiers in Afghanistan, where troops are seeing record violence in the 8-year-old war, while those in Iraq show much improved mental health amid much lower violence, the Army said Friday.

Soldier suicides in Iraq did not increase for the first time since 2004, according to a new study

I'm expecting lots of troop bashing since the troops aren't happy under lord O.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Surprisingly, only two primitive comments thus far, and they're pretty banal.

They are ignoring it because they have no idea what to say...it is Jimmy Carter part II in every respect.
O spending months determining what to do and then on Veterans day waving it all off saying he doesn`t like any proposals come up with different ones I suspect has left the troops feeling like they don`t have a mission or a purpose or perhaps being hindered in accomplishing what they know they can do.
One of our military members can address that and correct me where wrong.

DUmmies won`t defend that so they will let this thing die.

They can't come out and say what they really believe, which is "Good!"  With Dear Leader in office, they can't do a dead soldier counter like they did with Bush out of fear of being removed from the island.  They just have to sit back and take it.

3. No, simpler than that
Imagine yourself trapped in a rave club and the noise is cranked to rocket engine level. There's an angry stealthy snipper in the balcony. Every tenth black square on the floor is a land mine. Every so often someone near you hits the floor with a large ugly hole in his/her chest or head or is missing at least one limb and you're covered in their blood. One of the mines goes off and instant ground round. Once in awhile the noise turns down to jet engine level and you get a couple of hours of something resembling sleep, but BOOM! another mine does its thing. This time the poor bastard wasn't killed out right. S/he is screaming like a banshee. Oh yeah, the least of your problems, but the food sucks. This goes on for over a year.

After a third ride on this merry go round from hell, your morale probably isn't in the stratosphere and your brain is about one more twitch and giggle away from going bye-bye.

Is this supposed to be a metaphor for war or a bad batch of Ecstasy?

If I remember, the dummies were all in a toot the last time this came up, but then it was when W was CIC.  Troop moral was down, branches were not able to meet recruitment goals.  All attributed to W and the way that he was handling the operations in Iraq and Afganistan.  Threads (there were multiple) had to have been 100 responses long, with all the dummies crowing about the failure of W and the failure of the military.

Now the shoe is on the other foot, but if there is a morale issue I can pretty much assume it is because the PFC and LCPL's humping the guns have realized that the President may not have their back.  I was on active duty when Jimme was CIC, saw that first hand.  Kind of difficult to me motivated is the powers that be can not make up their mind in a timely manner on weather you are going to get the support that you need to do the job that you WANT to do.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Is that a Jewish Rabbi giving free circumcisions to the DUmmies?

And what every single DUmmie will miss...is the fact that soldiers are sitting over there wondering if re-enforcements are on the way...is a huge contributor to the low morale.

We had the same problem in Iraq before the surge.

Yeah, I can't imagine that the Prez acting exactly like he has no clear idea what to do and dithering in place for months on end could possibly drive down our morale or fire up the Taliban/AQ/warlord/militia morale.
