This is what I was told about ACV and heart burn.
Some times the stomach gets sluggish and peptide production slows. With out Peptides acid builds up and OH Lord incredible pain. You take your Tums and that horrid pink stuff to replace the peptides not being produced naturally.
When ACV and a full glass of water are drank, the acid is a kick in the butt to the stomach, it revs up and produces its own peptides--- Often the pain goes away in less then 5 minutes. If the pain gets worse, head for the ER, there is something bad going on.
ACV also makes the body alkaline and bacteria don't survive well. When you mix in pure Honey to the mix you have a natural antibiotic.
Lots of old time cures out there, Honey never spoils, vases of the stuff have been found in 3,000 year old Tombs in Egypt. Still eatable. Honey prevents infection in burns ,cuts and most any open wound.
Before refrigeration ACV was used to stop food poisoning, Feminine hygiene and control contraception.
Example, I had a 90 something old patient that put 2 table spoons of ACV in water and drank it before breakfast. One day I was checking on her and I had a very bad attack of Gird. It was that old lady who changed our relationship, she became the Nurse and insisted I drink her concoction, ACV and water. Amazing with in a few minutes the pain went away------Who would of thunk it.?
In the south I have seen people put tobacco on wasp stings, I carry a bottle of MSG when I swim in warm ocean water, the sting from Jelly fish goes away right smartly.
People with heart problems are told to take an aspirin every day. Woman today are told that if they have heart burn and their Jaw aches to take and aspirin and head for the hospital. We are only now exploring the different benefits of that miraculous little pill.
There are theory's out there that tell of why the cultures that eat hot peppers seldom get ulcers. This they believe is why when people from another culture eat hot and spicy food get heart burn, if they ate it every day no problem.
Gives new meaning to the Spice Wars when spices were worth more then gold.
