Okay, this "Twilight" crap is getting out of hand
« on: November 10, 2009, 03:33:03 PM »
Went to Wallyworld last night and saw "Twilight" ("New Moon" specifically) candy for sale.  Chocolate bars, Sweettarts, etc.  Lame, lame, lame.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Is this just a "woman deal" or are there "men", and I use that term loosely, that keep up with this stuff?

That's the one positive I can see with this whole craze.  A few of my coworkers, grown women, obsess over this guy, Edward,...I don't get it.

This fascination with vampires seems to run in cycles.  Anne Rice was a big deal for a few years until two movies were made from her books. Now there is Twilight, True Blood, and the Vampire Diaries that all have their following.

Naw, you can see the "men" looking at the Twilight stuff in the store.  They are ALL wearing crocs so they are easy to spot.

Me neither....but I don't particularly like vampire stuff. I haven't read any of the Twilight stuff, though I have friends that have.....educated grown women.

I think I read two of Anne Rice's vampire books...whatever the first one was, and the one about Lestat. That was enough.....

Daddy issues?  The whole concept of the series is old dudes, scoring with young girls.  From the ninety something year old Edward trying to shag the 15 year old'ish emo high school girl, to the other guy falling for an infant.

Creepy, no?

New moon comes out Thursday, a midnight showing and a few girls at work are going to watch it together.

Me, I'd personally like to see 2012 that comes out this weekend.

http://allieiswired.com/archives/2009/08/twilight-dildo-sparkles-for-robert-pattinson-fans-video/  I saw it online.  They also have a vampire mouth shaped fleshlight thing too.  http://gizmodo.com/5389919/have-a-happier-halloween-with-the-fleshlight-succu-dry

People are really pathetic.  They also have Robert Pattinson panties now where his vampire mouth is right on your whoohoo area.  http://robpattinson.blogspot.com/2009/10/so-so-wrong-robert-pattinson-panties.html

Then again if they had Erik Northman from True Blood on them that is a WHOLE NOTHER KIND OF STORY!  I am all about my boyfriend Erik.

My wife nearly tore through the books.  I'm pretty ho-hum about the whole deal because I thought the first movie completely sucked.  Tremendous, epic suckage.  It also creeps me out that the effeminate poofter who played Edward is such a sex symbol.  What's going on here ladies??

At any rate, I'm going to give the books a try.  I'm a fan of the genre for sure ever since Underworld and, I'll admit it, all the Blades.

Most Definitely one of the best. I haven't read any in a couple of years, and need to see how many I've missed.
