Bush visited the troops MANY times to include one trip that NO one knew about, not even the pilot of AF1, until he was boarding. That trip was to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the troops in Iraq.

The REASON we didn't hear about the numerous times Bush visited the troops is because he isn't a narcissistic little ****in' prick making everything about him. Like Obama.

Exactly and despite his faults in his second term he still was a man of character.

I wish that the media would show GWB going to visit the wounded it would sure make the POTUS look like the dumbass that he is

Media won't and didn't because GWB wanted it that way, one on one with the wounded without a bunch of a**hole reporters and cameras in his way and in his face....

Besides, Zero doesn't need a photo op to make him look like a dumbass....

He already is....

Stand by for another spike in blood pressure, kids.

2:45PM THE PRESIDENT and THE FIRST LADY depart The White House en route Camp David - South Lawn

There's more than one pissed Marine out there tonight. Having to make this trip to Camp David is keeping them from attending their Marine Corps Birthday Ball tonight. Of course that don't mean anything to Barry either.  :bird:

While, especially toward the end of his terms, I found myself in disagreement with George Bush's ever moderate leaning policies, the one thing I never questioned was the fact that he was a decent, honorable and caring man and he and his wife both have class with a capital "C".  This act is totally in character for them.

Such a contrast with the person holding that office now.

Same here. I have disagreed with Bush, yet I still liked him. Quite a stark contrast from Obama.

He's got a G-D 747 at his disposal 24/7/365.  He could leave here...touch down at Robert Gray AAF...go to Darnell...get back on the plane and fly back here in a matter of hours.

Certainly in enough time to go try and twist arms on Capitol Hill.

But what we are seeing by his actions is where his priorities are and what he thinks is most important.

I agree and it seems as if the Bush's have laid low, even during crisis, seemingly from an attempt to not insert themselves in things that are for the President normally to handle. I'm pleased the Bush's have decided to come forward during something like this. Our soldiers need these two fine human beings there lending support in an administration like the current one we have. God Bless (ex:-( President Bush and his lovely wife for putting the soldiers needs ahead of anything else.

A class act, all the way....and eventhough he didn't mean to do it...he just upstaged Barack in a big way.  Barack looks like the moron he is.

I did hear Barack was going to attend the funerals...but probably for the photo op and not for expression of sincere condolences.

I am glad to see that our former POTUS has shown more class in his little finger than the complete moron that resides in the WH now

The whole reason The Øne's scheduled for the funerals and not supporting THE LIVING is that he doesn't have to appear compassionate to corpses.  That and dead ones don't ask potentially embarrassing questions, or make potentially embarrassing statements in front of news cameras that'll drink it all up and ask for more.

By the way:

Anybody want to bet me whether The Øne goes and visits Hasan's hospital room when he finally drags his sickening ass down to Ft. Hood?  With or without the little obligatory fist-bump you know he's thinkin'?

That gave me a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach when I read that.

Is he in the military hospital or did he get taken to a public hospital?

They took his ass off the ventilator in the last 24 hours... looks like he isn't going to die yet.

Good.  Load him up in a wheel chair.  I think the hospital needs to have a fire drill...  :evillaugh:

I was freaking delighted when I heard Bush had gone to Fort Hood on the double.

Why not other former Presidents, and all 50 States high Muckie-Mucks also.?

Everyone ran to NYC when the towers were destroyed, ah but that was property, big money was in danger.  Except Hillery who had to go out of town for some personal reason.

So where is McCain, Sara was on the book circut selling herself and her book, too busy perhaps, she will get around to it when she has a slow day.

Where was Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter, Nancy Palosi ignored the whole thing, was old Joe the vice president there ?

Time for me to reevaluate Bush and the whole kit and caboodle of our leaders.

For Bush to sneak in and out with no photo-ops, a man who is being blamed for all ills to befall our country, this in itself is an act of bravery, honesty and true caring.

Interesting on how to take the measure of a man by the things he does that is not expected of him.

Interesting on how to take the measure of any man that ignores the things that they should do to promote their personal agenda.

CRAP, our POTUS may know what fork to use at a State dinner, how to dress for any occasion and never pick his nose in public or scratch his ass. This is just manors not class.

He just doesn't take his responsibility seriously, it is his agenda that he must put ahead of everything else'

BTW, that freaking sly, smug on Nancy Palosie's face is driving me nuts.

Most of the casualties were taken to Scott and White.  They have a great trauma center there.

IIRC the murderer is at Darnell.

They was he's acted on everything from sending troops to Afghanistan to this shooting...IMHO he might just give Hasan a Purple Heart.

In 0Bama's view, Hasan was injured in the line of duty.

It takes years of specialized training....otherwise known as public schooling.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
