George W. Bush Visits Fort Hood, Wounded Soldiers

(too short to excerpt)

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

An Army psychiatrist, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 30 in a shooting rampage Thursday at a Soldier Readiness Processing Center on the post.

Hasan was wounded by a civilian police officer and was taken into custody.

======================================================

I mean, that's cool, I get it that Obama couldn't be there first.  After all, it's hard to shoehorn a hospital visit in between rounds of golf and jaunts to Copenhagen.  And if he DID visit baby-killing, kitten-eating "sooolllll-jerrrrs" (extreme sarcasm intended), wouldn't that mean he wasn't worth of his Nobel Peace Prize anymore?

Ex-pres Bush was always a class act, and obviously hasn't changed.  Of course, he always made our soldiers and the safety of our country a priority.  Pres Obama has different priorities...increasing the ease of slaughtering the unborn, reducing the overall quality of healthcare while enriching the government coffers, and kissing up to the special interest groups that bought him his office.

This sure makes 0bama look like the piece of shit human that he is, doesn't it?? I suppose that Ft. Hood doesn't have enough mirrors for him to preen in or something. Oh yeah, he's too busy trying to get Obamacare passed in the Congress by twisting arms of the Blue Dog Dems.

He's got a G-D 747 at his disposal 24/7/365.  He could leave here...touch down at Robert Gray AAF...go to Darnell...get back on the plane and fly back here in a matter of hours.

Certainly in enough time to go try and twist arms on Capitol Hill.

But what we are seeing by his actions is where his priorities are and what he thinks is most important.

It seems like he could fly in and fly out, without any fanfare or publicity and know one would know about it until afterwards...Bush, and even Clinton, would have done it and it wouldn't be made public until after they were gone.

But....Obama would have to give up the "campaign mode" and he's not going to do that.

Pretty disgusting when the CiC won't go to Fort Hood under the circumstances.

Agree with all the sentiments expressed above. W Bush is such a class act. This just shows the genuine nature of the love he had/has for his troops. He didn't have anything to gain by going there. He was there because he cares deeply. Unlike his lame replacement.

And honestly, if you're a Soldier laying there wounded, who would you rather have a visit from? Past President Bush or the current POTUS.

DingleBarry doesn't like the military, that's why he won't spend 1/2 a day visiting Ft. Hood.

It's OK that he doesn't like us. For the most part the feeling is mutual. At least among my buddies. We generally feel he's a jackass and a fag.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Last week when those 8 (?) troops were killed in Afghanistan, Obama flew out to ??? to get his picture taken with the caskets......and the MSM made a big deal of it. The video I saw of him saluting the caskets was enough to make me sick. I'm sure one of the Marines on the helicopter would have been more than glad to show the S.O.B. how to give a proper salute.

My 14 yr. old Boy Scout/JROTC Cadet can salute better than Obama.

Don't you just love that half assed salute he gives while boarding or getting off of Marine One? He rarely even glances at the Marine on duty.

Voted McCain Palin last time rather than not vote, as Palin deserved a vote from me in rthis very blue state. McCain.....something has gone wrong deep in side. Too bad to, as he had the makings of greatness imediately  post Vietnam......

But Barry is an utter disgrace to the Office. An insult to the battery of flags we see behind him as daily he listens to his own voice saying nothing. He's far worse than the anti-semite Carter.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

Bush may have made some mistakes but dammit he was 100 times the man lord O is. Notice that he didn't want the press in the way and the article also says he spent considerable time with these folks, 1 to 2 hours which is probably the right amount of time to talk to them try to provide some comfort then leave them to try to deal with this.

I'm waiting for the Dump to get wind of this. Heads will be asplodin left and left.

While, especially toward the end of his terms, I found myself in disagreement with George Bush's ever moderate leaning policies, the one thing I never questioned was the fact that he was a decent, honorable and caring man and he and his wife both have class with a capital "C".  This act is totally in character for them.

Such a contrast with the person holding that office now.
