Thousands rally to protest health care bill

By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer Laurie Kellman, Associated Press Writer – 14 mins ago

WASHINGTON – Thousands of conservatives are rallying at the Capitol against the Democrats' health care overhaul plan.

Protesters chanted, "Kill the bill," as they awaited speeches by Republican leaders on Thursday. The campaign-style event kicked off a daylong, GOP protest against the legislation, which Democrats hope to pass in a historic vote Saturday.

The protesters gathered on the lawn near the West Front of the Capitol. One carried a sign reading, "Waterboard Congress." Other signs said, "Vote no to government-run health care."

It still amazes me conservatives protesting we aren't known for protests like the left is.

1. Vote no to government-run health care because privately-run for-profit health care is so much better

Idiot. Shouldn't be allowed out in public without supervision. Danger to society.

You are the danger to society if you are dumb enough to think that mandated health insurance and govt running health care will make things better. Mark my words if you morons get this you will be wishing like hell you still had blue cross to piss an moan about.

to protest a bill that will give millions of people health insurance and allow them to live and at the same time bring down the deficit....if a repub was in the WH and offered this bill, the repubs in congress would all be behind it....they just cannot give President Obama a victory even if it means more people not having health insurance....these are sick people and I have no use for them....they can all go to HELL!

How in the hell will spending even more money reduce the deficit? Heck maybe I need to go on a spending spree to build up my bank account if it really works that way.  :mental:

And I know full well if the republicans were trying to mandate health insurance you guys would be screaming and crying and I would be right there with you but, for different reasons.
This has nothing to do with giving Uncle Barry a victory or not, it's about what is right, constitutional, and good for the American people.

3. "kill the bill"??

wonder if that is code for something else??

You are too smart for us to fool you. It is code for, you are a dumbass.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Waterboard congress????

Ridiculous.

That is far too good for them.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

The road to freedom is paved with dead liberals.

I think they know they are on the losing side of the debate at this point.
Seems like resigned frustration.

Guess what DUmmies...the free ride left without you.

It's hard to find a much better example of why these dolts are viewed in the same light as cult followers.  Dems say it, they believe it, nothing else is even to be considered.  The worst dictators the world has ever known could only wish for subjects that were this easily brainwashed.

Because third world peasant labor is a good thing.

But what about that one thread that Nikki Stone was involved in, where they were bemoaning the individual mandates that might cost a family $1,480 per month that nobody can afford?  Hey lurking DUmmies:  READ THE BILL!  You'll hate it as much as we do!  Don't be sheep.
