Oh my.

The primitives as usual just learned something decent and civilized people knew a long time ago.

Just heard on the radio that Owens (NY-23) just became a Democrat days ago.

He's a Republican and to the right of Scozzafava (sp?). He gave money to Alphonse D'Amato.

Great.

Alphonse d'Amato was great.  And greatly missed.

The clueless primitive:

2. Oh well. Its a Republican district right?

If so, I'm not surprised. At least the nut job didn't win

3. Even if this is true, he's still better than the Glen Beck-worshiping teabagger Hoffman.

The new New York congressman opposes the public option, too.

4. Meet Bill Owens, a DCCC-Approved Non-Democrat for the House

http://www.observer.com/4850/meet-bill-owens-dccc-appro...

In choosing Owens, Democrats seem to be acknowledging a need to get away from the Democratic brand in order to replace McHugh, a moderate Republican. Owens, a Plattsburgh attorney, is currently an enrolled independent. His name and face are not widely known. He has never held elected office. His stances on issues are moderate, and his personality is formal.

He was not a Democrat.

Ha ha.

7. "he does not support a public option available to anyone-" YIKES from the article &

"On the wedge issue of same-sex marriage, Owens is to the right of his Republican opponent Scozzafava. He does not support full marriage--he opposes any federal action on the "states rights issue"--telling me, "I fully support equal rights for everybody, and certainly civil unions are in that mix. "

and

"Since he is not an enrolled Democrat, Owens must obtain a Wilson-Pakula proclamation signed by all 11 county chairs to run on the party's line."

Ha ha.

franksolich was curious when that was going to come out.

This is funny.  Owens is actually to the right of the GOP nominated Scozzafava.  :hammer: :hammer:

From the DUmmies link.

Actually pretty nauseating, if you ask me.

It tells me that those who run with the support of either of the two-parties in the two-party system are pretty damned interchangable these days.  The candidate from the GOP side of the house was a raving moonbat, and the one running under the Democrat Marxist moniker was until recently a Republican who hadn't had much luck under the (R) banner.  If you ever needed confirmation that the two-party system isn't "FOR" anything except the continuation and furtherance of the power wielded by the two-parties, this is it. :puke:

Frank, thanks for finding this and posting it.  I got so caught up in the Hoffman campaign, that I didn't do a lot of research on Owens, just on Dede.   Anyway, I feel better and can sleep better knowing we aren't stuck with a total moonbat.  I hope Owens drives the DUmmies crazy.

DefiantSix, I get your point, and it's well taken.

I learned of this about a month ago, but wrongfully discounted it as a rumor.

You'd be surprised at what we hear out here, in the Sandhills of Nebraska.

I never said anything about it, because while I'm more than happy to spread rumors about the primitives, real life is another matter.

I was just stunned that no one who actually lives in that district and knows people there, brought this up.

True, there isn't much difference in the moderates of either party, but the funny part is that the DUmmies would have been better off with the GOP selected candidate than their own.  Now, the fact that the GOP decided to back Scuzzy is sickening in the extreme.  I'm guessing that may not happen with Rubio and Crist in Florida.

Didn't they get a clue to this when $kimmer was running pro-Scozzafazza ads on the DUmp for a month?

lol.

This crew does not get subtle messages, and donors do not see the ads.

On RedState today, I think it came out that Crist asked for the establishment Republican endorsement.  I know that the post had that highlighted in bright yellow.

Let us remember, Owens was actually to the right of that Scuz bitch. To the left of me, but you get the point. He trashed her in his ads over her tax policies. Would "I" vote for him? No. If it was between just him and Scuzzy? I'd seriously have to think about that. Against a TRUE conservative? That sumbitch would never receive my vote. Hell, even in the previous case, I'd probably wind up voting Libertarian.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

What I mean is that he specifically asked the NRSC and NRC for their endorsements.  Link:

I went over and read the short thread.  It ended with a pathetic whimper, with a poster asking if some paper or other was a right wing rag.   The sound of a deflating balloon was deafening over there.
