Al Gore on Letterman actually made me change the channel to The Cables

Holy crap, I love Al, but STFU already!

3. Interesting

I loved the interview. And was surprised how much Dave knew about it all.

5. Wish I had known he was on

He was everywhere today. He came on Morning Joe just as I was leaving for work, but I recorded it and watched it later. He was great and is looking marvelous -- looks like he lost a lot of weight.

7. He already has enough money (inherited) to last him and his heirs forever.

I'd give him MUCH more credibility if he donated EVERY PENNY from EVERY FILM, EVERY BOOK, AND EVERY APPEARANCE to the cause.

I have to hold my nose every time I support him and his efforts when I have discussions with friends, family and acquaintences regarding his work. Good money being made there.

Hmmm.  franksolich agrees with a primitive.

9. Did you not hear him? Every penny he got from the Nobel Prize and every penny from his new book are going to the cause. Also, every penny from both his movie and book Inconvenient Truth went to the cause.

12. Sheesh is right. Maybe pay attention when he is on instead of holding your nose, and you'd know that he donates all his earnings to charity.

14. "Every" is a VERY LARGE word, kids, one of the largest in the dictionary. You might want to do a little research.

I'm not saying he's wrong, I believe that humans have an affect on global warming.

I'm just tired of people making money off of it, in the same fashion I'm tired of people making money off of 9/11 by SELLING videos critical of the government's investigation into it.

16. Would you rate Al higher if he wore sackcloth and ashes, ate dirt and slept in a cardboard box?

It takes money -- big money -- for any entity to have a continuing presence and to get its message across to the public nowadays. This is true for your local state university that's had its funding cut to the nubs, or a teaching hospital with dwindling assets, or for good groups like People for the American Way.

You seem to be taking Al to task on two points: for inheriting money, and for making money. I say Al's okay, and there's no better warrior in the cause to save this planet.

18. I would rate Al higher if, he used his own money to build a green electric power plant, and then sold the electricity at the same price (or less) than we pay now

20. Gore is putting all his profits back into green technology-what more do you want?!

Do you expect Gore to live in a homeless shelter too?

And btw, do you expect Obama to take all HIS riches-because Obama is a millionaire too-and help the planet?

I highly doubt you expect Obama to be as altruistic do you?

Hell, I have never heard that Obama has put even one thin dime into helping our planet.

Yet, Al Gore puts milions of dollars into helping the planet and that's not good enough for you.

Un****ingbelieveable.

15. Oh, yeah, Al just doesn't cut it next to Stupid Human Tricks or riffs on Chubby Melt Sandwiches...

Why do you feel it necessary to post that Al made you switch channels? Is that worthwhile to share? What's your expectation as to how other DUers should to respond to your ennui?

Just let Al be Al. As he puts it, "I used to be the next President of the United States."

No, but I wouldn't mind seeing him and his bullshit "cause" relegated to that level.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

"The Cause" ='s Al Gore's pocket.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Yeah, the money goes to the corporations that he has created/invested in to create green energy and to market/trade carbon offsets.

JohnnyReb, "the cause."  That's what I was thinking when I read that.  No DUmmy actually asked for specifics.  The fawning little goons made me sick on this thread.  Maybe I shouldn't read them today.
