What I like...as pointed out by the local Fox channel this morning...is that gay marriage has lost in every state where it's been put on the ballot.

Gay marriage has been put on the ballots in 31 different states and all 31 times it's gone down in flames.

To everyone BUT teh Dump that would be a clue to stop trying to force it down our throats.

Gay marriage was already legal in Maine.  This bill reversed the decision.  However, the wording of the bill was convoluted and did not specify that the previous bill would be reversed.  It went like this:

Do you want to reject the new law that lets same-sex couples marry and allows individuals and religious groups to refuse to perform these marriages?

Nowhere in the wording does it suggest that the old law would be repealed.  It seemed to focus on allowing individuals and religious groups to refuse to perform these marriages, which I'm all for.  Everyone should be allowed to exercise their freedoms, on both sides of the fence.

However the wording of the bill was sketchy and misleading, and I won't be surprised if it's repealed.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. You're right though. The left looks down on people and will claim that they were too stupid to understand what they were voting on.

Naw, I do agree that the left does normally whine about things like this, but this law really did employ tricky wording and obfuscation.
