Daughter of local physician may have died of alcohol poisoning
« on: November 02, 2009, 03:48:16 PM »
Only a preliminary report from someone who knew her and said she was a "party girl."  I guess she was admitted to the hospital with stomach pains, then started having seizures.  She was three hours away from here, but her family made it there before she died.

If it does turn out to be alcohol poisoning, I'll still feel bad for her family, but I'll still consider it a really stupid way to die.  If you're going to do that to yourself, you deserve to die.  It's like the high school girl here who died in a drunken car accident after a party a couple years back.  Just stupid.  I have a hard time having sympathy for stupid people.  (Of course, she's a saint now in this town.  This new girl probably will be sainted, too.)

Well, try to at least muster some feeling for those left behind, no matter how stupid and rash the person who has departed the stage.  It's a tragic and pointless waste of life, and I'm sure the loss is shredding her parents' hearts.  I agree as far as sympathy for girl goes, she doesn't deserve it, but the family is another thing.

If I were in her parents' place, I know I'd be thinking, "What did I do wrong?  What could I have done differently to teach my child not to do this?"  :(

Some kids just get messed up in spite of the best parenting. Not sure why. I do think that intelligent children need a lot more stimulation than what life often provides. Sometimes they are able to get the stimulation they seek via appropriate and life-enhancing experiences ... sometimes they don't. It's the latter case that can be problematic I'm sure.

Even if the poor girl had a bit of a reputation for "partying", it might be a bit too soon to jump to that conclusion.

Regardless, prayers go out to the family and friends left behind.  Even if was a death induced by stupidity, no parent should have to bury their child at the onset of their life.  :(

So she went into the hospital with stomach pains and was there long enough to have seizures ?

I find it hard to believe that the staff was not pumping her stomach and giving her massive shots of B12.

I feel sorry for any youngster that dies in any way, and even sorrier still when they are labeled a Party Girl, may as well call her a slut.  When a male dies in the same  way we do not call him a Whoredog.

JINX, few of us have never as a kid not done something really stupid and some how survived.  We can look back and count with fingers and toes the dumb crap we pulled and wonder why we lived to grow up.

By your thinking Jinx, there are stupid ways to die and smart ways to die.   Do we really have a choice.?

Off the record Jinx, I believe from you own words that you may have fish to fry.
