It's a point not to be ignored, there are plenty of anti-gun freaks who want gun ownership killed off on the pretext of 'Public health' or 'Home safety.'

they won't. They believe, and I suspect for many citizens, it's true, that people nolonger care about freedoms... And frankly, GOP is no less guilty of stealing freedoms than the Dems are, so I have little hop ethat they will suddenly change their M.O.

They haven't seem to figured out what they want to be when they grow up, have they? They are too busy trying to appease the mushy middle.... they need to lead, but first they need leaders with a clear message and they fail on both counts at the present time.

Agree. 100%. Which is why Mustang and I completely disagree on the value of the "party." Real leaders are not born into, molded by or even supported by political parties.

He said that an independent or forming a third party don't win and we must take over the party. Rush said the liberals didn't ditch the Democrat party, they took over the Democrat party and got Obama as they desired.

It's not that I value the "party" so to speak, it's more about I want to us conservatives to take over the "party" and push the mushy moderates over the cliff.

I want to use the party as a tool.

He said that an independent or forming a third party don't win and we must take over the party. Rush said the liberals didn't ditch the Democrat party, they took over the Democrat party and got Obama as they desired.

It's not that I value the "party" so to speak, it's more about I want to us conservatives to take over the "party" and push the mushy moderates over the cliff.

I want to use the party as a tool.

Really, I think there should be a two party system, Conservatives and Liberals. Let's dispense with the Democrat and GOP nonsense. And OMG... the GOP leadership has to grow a pair or step to the side, I have never been so frustrated with so many pantywaists in my whole life.

This country needs fiscal conservatives that are willing to stand by their principles.  Let's face it when it comes to spending like a drunken sailor, the Repubs have been as bad as the Dems on far too many occassions.

Well I'm open-minded. I see your point, but if we have to do this way, then we better do it all the way. And the only way I see us Conservatives getting authentic-to-the-bone conservatives to control all branches of the government, we need a revolution. A REAL REVOLUTION.

Although until that happens, I will go with the more pragmatic approach. But if there was a conservative revolution, you can count me in, brother.

What is unpragmatic about demanding the GOP to start endorsing and supporting real conservatives?  Take a look at what is happening in the NY 23rd district.  The GOP endorsed a freaking liberal with an R behind her name instead of a conservative like Hoffman.

The R candidate ended up suspending her campaing because she was getting beat by both of the other candidates.

If the GOP doesn't man up and start running real conservative candidates, then I will start voting 3rd party every damn time.  If that means that the Dems keep winning and drives the GOP party into the grave it currently deserves then so be it.  Maybe then you will see the revolution that you mentioned.

That shocked me when she left the race and the GOP ended up putting its foot in its mouth and pressured her to leave after attacking Palin and Pawlenty for supporting the conservative candidate.

If that trend started to spread, that would do it.
