Weekend? What's that?
« on: October 31, 2009, 05:44:57 AM »
On a new note, will make a weekend instead of seperate Saturday/Sunday threads.

Still dark outside, gonna be mostly cloudy, but way warm (mid 60's.)  More transformer relay calibrations to do.  Still have to pick up the multimeter I won yesterday--I already have a buyer for it.

We're given "options" as to whether or not to come in on our 6th day (first day off--of which mine is tomorrow.)  Which do I need more, money or sleep?  So difficult to decide....

Look at Tuesday in both scenarios, reflecting on your choice either way, and then decide.  I would probably take the day, since you might not have that option again.

I see the sun, looks like it will be about 70ish.  Right now we are at 43.

I have been relieved of my commitment to crawl under my SO's house, because it is a murky mud pit and no repairs can be done.  Woot!  So, that frees me up to help move a buddy of mine, and his family.  not so woot.

Happy Halloween, CC!

Sunny at the moment, but calling for rain showers later (of course).

Feeling the desire to shop...boys need new shoes, so that might fit the bill.  Need to go to the grocery store, too.

Trick-or-treating tonight...my youngest plans to run amuk with his buddies, and my daughter wants to try to get away with it for one more year.  My 14 yr old (at 6ft) has given up.  Wants to go to a haunted house thing with a "friend" (of the female persuasion).

Nothing else exciting planned for the weekend, for which I'm thankful!

Lots of baking for today.  I'm baking the communion bread for church tomorrow, then I have to bake a dessert for the Halloween party I'm going to tonight.  Off to the kitchen for me.

Avoiding things I need to get done.

Been reading and on here....going to get nails done before going to watch football game.

Have an urge to spend some money....now if only I had some for frivolous spending... :(
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

It's aliiiiiiiive!!

I just spent the last two hours replacing the starter in my car.  Not bad for $100, but I think my battery may need to be replaced too.  I have no idea how old it (the battery) is, but its the one the previous owner had in the car, and he said it had sat for a while.  I spent more time finding the right size wrench to use.  Note: 15mm > 14mm.  Yes, sir.

So much for people being "encouraged" to take their days off.  At least I got an extra hour of sleep before I came in to work this morning, and I have tomorrow off.  THAT day they can't take away from me without direct permission from God and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Same here.  That's why I called a lawn service since I don't have time to do it this year.  $275 to mow, rake/vacuum all the leaves (possibly multiple times), and fertilize/lime the lawn.  Not a bad price.

A coworker of mine just had an ad left on his doorstep for a Fall yard clean up service, similar to that, offered for only $99.  A hell of a price, no?  It was actually left on his doorstep, of a home with about an acre or so with ALOT of leaf shedding trees.

He took them up on that offer, and they came out, afterwards the owner came up and tried demanding $250 or something like that.  Actually stating "but we got really dirty doing yard work, and there were a lot of trees, so it's not fair"!

I about died laughing hearing that one, and of course he chased the guy off after only paying the originally agreed amount.   :lmao:

The SciFi channel is showing the original 'V' miniseries tonight.  I got a kick out of the enormous sunglasses and blow-dried big hair, but it was just too cheesy to stick with.

Trust me, no company around here is stupid enough to do that.  I have a "smaller" lawn area at only about 1/2 an acre, with the rest of my property being nice, dense, leafy woods.  They haven't dropped by to do it yet, I'm sure they're waiting as long as they can so as many leaves as possible have dropped.  My pear/peach trees are usually the last to go, and they're turning pretty fast now.

On another note, today is MY weekend.  Off to the lawyer in an hour to sign paperwork and chew her ass for asking for my most recent (read: 80 hours of OT) paystub, and do some minor stuff in the house.  Laundry already done.  What to do, what to do?
