KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee man convicted of kidnapping, rape and murder charges in the fatal carjacking of a couple on a date has been sentenced to death.

The defendant, 28-year-old Lemaricus Davidson, showed no reaction Friday as jurors announced the death sentences for the murders of 21-year-old college student Channon Christian and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Christopher Newsom.

Davidson was found guilty of abducting the couple in Knoxville during a 2007 carjacking by several armed men.

I am so glad to read this, thanks for posting it. I remember when this happened. It was one horrible murder and bothered me for days after I read about it. I'm so grateful to the jury for doing the right thing. I just hope they all get the same and these animals are killed fast so we don't waste another dime on feeding them. I hope it brings a little more closure to the families. I'm with you Ptar, there needs to be a special place in hell waiting for them.

Most male inmates are housed at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, but for security reasons, some of them can be housed at the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg. Two inmates with the death penalty are currently housed at Morgan County.

Female inmates sentenced to death are housed at the Tennessee Prison for Women in Nashville.

The following number of inmates have multiple death sentences: 12 inmates with two death sentences, five inmates with three death sentences, one inmate with four death sentences, and one inmate with seven death sentences.

Cobbins got life without possibility of parole.

He is in a MEDIUM security prison. He has been mowing lawns. However, the other day, he told prison officials he was in fear for his life. He is now in "protective custody" in a cell by himself, only getting out one hour a day.

Davidson is the older half-brother of Cobbins....and the supposed ring-leader of the group.

He was sentenced to death by lethal injection - 4 TIMES!

That means that each death sentence must be appealled SEPARATELY....so chances of all four being set aside are slim to none....slim has already boarded the plane and is out of here.

Davidson showed absolutely no emotion when he was sentenced to guilty ....and each charge was read separately. Neither did he show any emotion when he was sentenced to death for "murder, including heinous and atrocious crimes against another human being".

His MF'ing lawyer is already talking "mistrial".

Davidson has yet to be sentenced for several other counts that he was also found guilty of....the kidnapping, car theft etc.....all of which are felony charges which combined with the murder in extreme will result in life imprisonment.

Unfortunately the average time on Death Row in TN is 13 years. It will be a loooong time before this animal is put to death....then it will be by lethal injection....way too good for this embodiment of evil.

Both of these animals would be killed if put in general population...after being seriously used and abused....let the Aryan Brotherhood loose on them!!! Then they would have some idea of what torture can be like.

Yesterday after the death penalty was handed out....the parents of both kids were interviewed.

They were asked how they felt about people objecting to the death penalty.

Channon's father said....."if you object to the death penalty, then you call me up. You come to my house and agree to sit at my computer ...without moving away until I tell you you can....and you look at each and every picture of my daughter and Chris.....pictures that are so bad they can not be shown on tv. Every single one.....that will show you what these animals did to my daughter and Chris. Then you tell me if this animal should be put to death or not. If you still say no...I will respect your opinion."

Chris's father said....."you tell me what you think AFTER this happens to your child."

These monsters should have been killed before they ever made it to trial.

Jury selection starts on the next trial in a week or two.

These parents and family have 2 more trials to go through......not counting the motion appearances, or anything else to do with the upcoming trials.

And not counting any of the many appeals that are expected.

It will never be over for the families.....

Great post debk. I can't imagine Channon's father having seen those pictures. Just reading the descriptions of what was done to them, I'm not sure I could have looked at them if it were my child. In fact if it were my child I'm not so sure I could have kept myself together. I believe my dark would side take over and I'd find a way to see them dead. I agree with you, feed them to the Aryan bros.

I would have looked at the pictures, and no matter what happened to me or what it cost those animals would all be dead.

I reread the details of this crime even though I remember when it happened and didn't really need a refresher. Calling these punks animals is not right. Animals kill their prey as quickly and efficiently as possible. These POS are just punks.

There are guards in prisons that can make a prisoner's life very unpleasant; even when in protective confinement. Let's all hope that the guards charged with watching these POS punks around the clock make every minute of their miserable useless lives as unbearable as possible. Forgetting to take away the shoe laces from one of these punks might be enough to cheat the executioner of his pay if the guards keep the pressure on 24 x 7.
