Truck crash leaves beef all over road
« on: October 29, 2009, 10:49:15 AM »
Quote
A truck filled with sides of beef overturned on an American road after a crash involving a truck of tomatoes and a truck of cups, leaving a meat-slick that caused massive delays on the busy highway.

State police say the chain-reaction crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Monday morning, at a toll booth on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Weston, about 15 miles west of Boston.

The beef pile-up began when the truck carrying tomatoes was stopped at the toll-booth, with a car and two other trucks approaching from behind. The last truck in line, which contained the beef, collided with the second truck (containing Styrofoam cups), shunting it forward into the car and the tomato truck. The beef truck overturned, spilling its meaty contents all over the road.  ...

I wondered if I should put this in the recipe forum ...  :lmao:

Wow, this story is so outrageous I'll bet the reporter is loin. It does have a tender ending, though.

Too bad there wasn't a truck carrying pasta involved..they would have had spaghetti with meat sauce all over the road.

I've heard protein treatments are good for surface lines.

That's the best I got.  Sorry.

I'm just sorry I don't have a steak in the beef industry.

With all that crashing and skidding about, that beef got braised up. Probably black and blue by now.

Well, then we won't need to worry about tenderizing it, will we?

I dunno. I'm not sure about eating braised up beef. If it got that way in a dutch oven, I'm okay with it. But not on the street.   :p

I didn't click the link. Did the driver get a moo-ving violation?
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

No Moo Moo for You.

What a hoot, my freezer would be full for the next year.

Reminds me of the Pauli on the island of Oahu.  The locals would wait for a beer truck to loose breaks and go into a truck run off area.  When the driver went for a phone for help the locals would empty the intire load of beer or what ever the trucker was carrying.

I came across one of these accidents and managed to fit 10 cases of beer in the car with the kids sitting on top of them.  It was that yucky home brewed Uno beer but it didn't have the formaldehyde that was added to states side beer.  No headaches but it took awhile for the runs to pass.
