World Series

This thing could go either way. I like the starting pitching for the Phillies better, but, Lidge...well, he is a bum.

Head to head pitcher rankings:

Lee vs. Sabathia (wash)
Hamels vs. Burnett (Hamels)
Martinez vs. Pettite (Pettite)

Lineups are a wash, also. I think it will come down to managerial decisions, bullpens and closers. Riviera or Lidge...? (::))

MLBA should send Tim McClelland to San Diego, Seattle or something for the WS. Far, far away from the NE.

Pedro is pitching Game 2 against Burnett.  The Phils are saving Hamels to pitch Game 3 at home in a more friendly atmosphere.

I say Yankees in 7, and Sabathia gets the MVP.

That could backfire. Lee just stepped it up a notch tonight. That curve had the Yankees cross-eyed.

Lee was fantastic in striking out 10 and that was a great behind the back catch. Go Phils

Hope springs eternal.

One of these days the Kansas City Royals will make it again.

I'm into things for the long haul--it's going to be another forty-two years before Nebraska football returns to its former glory, but as long as it's inevitable, I'm willing to wait.

America's team?  (short pause while I puke)  Maybe somewhere south of the canal, where smirking en masse may be the norm.  There is only one America's Team and they are not in the playoffs.

GO PHILLIES!  (GO PEDRO!)

I don't like the move by Manuel to throw Pedro against Burnett in NYC. Both could be shelled, though. Burnett needs to go at least 7.

"They" say the more you understand baseball, the more you enjoy it. I admit to not being the best fan. I'll probably watch all of ten games all year, until the playoffs start. (average 1 live game a year, sometimes more, sometimes none)

But i do like rooting against the Yankee's and damn it all, they look good tonight. What's up with the Philly pitching tonight?

Hamels has been a headcase all year. He's been the two extremes: great and terrible.
