No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I might be going to look at a house with a Realtor this evening.  Unfortunately, even though it is priced in my price range, she suspects, based on the location and how nice the description is, that is is very underpriced in order to spark a bidding war.  Plus it is a short sale, so it is likely that the bank would not even take the offer.

But, I am actually looking at a house  :-)  What is sad is that I could buy a nice house in just about any other state, but I can barely afford anything here  :bawl:

Cold and getting colder by the minute.  Raining and foggy--pretty miserable weather.  Low 40's now, might make it to 45 later today, and rain/mix tonight with low in the low 30's.

Rumor going around work that they'll be cutting back on our hours pretty soon.  Oh, goody--just when I was starting to make some money!  But I only planned on being on 6-12's through next Friday (11/6), so if they do cut us back to 6-10's or 5-12's, it won't take much to make that up.

two hour presentation this morning, followed by my wood stove install!  :cheersmate:

Can't wait to have a warm, wood-heated house.

This weekend is nothing more than finishing up the work I didn't get done on vacation. Moving a door - again - moving 10 HVAC vents. :(

Work as usual, then take the puppy to obedience class tonight.

Tomorrow, Hell Week resumes with 3-hour orchestra rehearsals on Thursday, Friday, and the gig on Saturday. We're playing Tchaikovsky's 6th (Pathetique) Symphony, Mendelssohn's 5th (Reformation) Symphony, and a couple of Slavonic Dances by Dvorak. I'm playing tuba - and there's only a part for the Tchaikovsky.  :bawl:

Well now, as soon as that thread with the latest update on the gigantic primitive has had 100 "reads," I'll change it.

This might sound like blackmail, but actually it's astute marketing.

Frank, if by "marketing" you mean "get their attention" I think you accomplished that quite handily.  :evillaugh:

Actually, it would be more accurate to call it "bile-inducing".  Who needs Syrup of Ipecac with that avatar, man?

Deb: Congrats

Frank: I know I am new and all, but I look forward to your avatar changing.  This one not so much.  It made me ill.  Please change it.  PLEASE.

No rain today, rain tomorrow.  My poor dog is at the vet under "evaluation."  Was sick yesterday, and not much better today.  Ruling out all options, it may very well be his dog food.  Bought a new bag Monday.  I am concerned.   :(

As previously stated, I'm more than happy to change it once the thread about the gigantic primitive reaches 100 "reads" (it's at a measly 68 right now), or sometime after supper, so that the afternoon and early evening crews can have a gander.

You can make it 69, one more "read" closer to 100.

Deb, congrats!

I'm midweek in the week from hell...got a call Saturday from a teacher asking if I'd work for her Mon and Tues...I agreed.  It's a 1st grade class...not my favorite age to teach, and the teacher is a clutter monster...not my favorite environment.  And it's in an "open concept" school,...meaning no real rooms, just wall dividers and no doors.  Again, not my favorite.  But I figure, 2 days, can't be too bad.  Well, 2 turned into 3, which has now turned into 5.

And a couple of kids in that class...they'd be hating life if I was their regular teacher!  But on a positive note, the neiboring teacher said that is this week is the quietest that class has been all year.

I shall persevere.  I might be drinking heavily Friday night, but I shall persevere!
