Fall Friday
« on: October 23, 2009, 05:59:10 AM »
Low of 34 this morning, getting up to 50, rain tonight.  Work, work, more friggin work.  Contract workers are getting laid off, so we're either getting towards the end, or we're way overbudget.  Take your pick.

I'm guessing two more weeks on shift.  Anything past that is gravy for the Thanksgiving turkey.

Three more days until a day off.  God help me.  Will probably have to do the yard Monday, and hopefully the lawyer gets paperwork from soon-to-be-ex by then so I can sign it and get the hell out of this marriage.

62 this morning with some showers in the area. Only two days worth of work for me this weekend, so it's Saturday and Sunday when no one is there.

Rain and more rain.   :banghead:

Got a sh*tload of work to do.  One of the "big dogs" took a week out of my project schedule without bothering to ask first.  He doesn't mind if the project team works over the weekend.   :whatever:  Had people running around the office yesterday afternoon like their hair was on fire.

Inlaws that were to arrive this evening called yesterday late afternoon to tell us they would arrive in a couple of hours.

Is it Friday yet?

After working all week, during the gorgeous weather, and not even having recess  duty to be able to enjoy it, I decided to take a day off today, and of course the high is only in the 50's, with rain expected.

Working more to try to get some stuff paid, but my house really doesn't function well when I work full-time or close to it.  It's a trade off.  We tend to spend more on convenience stuff when I work, so it's really a trade off.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today.  Might run to the store.  Daughter is going to a b-day part tonight (but she can drive herself, so it's no big thing).  Thought about taking the boys to the High School football game, but with the possible rain, I"m thinking I'll skip it.

Crappy weather, but I am grinning ear to ear.

A serendipitous phone call to a fellow retired Army bandsman, whom I didn't know personally but knew of, and who happens to be a very well respected instrument repairmen, has resulted in an arrangement whereby I turn over my recently-purchased tuba for an overall checkup and he loans me one of his horns.

The best part is, he's bringing the tuba to my neighborhood for the swap. That saves me a 700-mile drive.

He said, "I'm only worried about one thing. You may really like the horn I'm loaning you and won't want to swap back again."

He's also going to be fabricating some button felts for my euph. (I have hammers for fingers and they get chewed up PDQ.)

Oh dear.  After suffering through the rain that is coming y'alls way, it looks to be a beaut of a day here.  Sunshine and 60.  Of course, I am working so I won't get a chance to enjoy it.  HOWEVER, I might see some of it tomorrow.  Then, guess what?  Rain expected Sunday night through Monday.  Whoopdeedo.

I am so happy it is  Friday  :cheersmate:

Plenty of work to do, but some cases should get filed today, so I get to bill.  This is my best billing month in a while, and I'm hopeful that that mean things are starting to turn around.

YAY Friday.  How is your ankle CR?

I can put a little weight on it and the swelling has finally gone down, but it still hurts like crazy.  I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday where the doctor will decide whether or not I should have surgery  :bawl:  He is concerned that because I've sprained my ankle so many time, the ligaments may be overly stretched.

That stinks.  Glad you went to the doctor though.  Hang in there!

Still beautiful in Beantown, of course, it's always beautiful, especially when the "Massholes" leave for the weekend and leave all the parking for moi.

Well, it's definitely fall here...pouring rain and getting windy so those pretty leaves will probably all be on the ground by Halloween

Already wasted a good portion of my day at the thrift store where their stupid credit thing was down(they were moving offices and had the computer stuff unplugged and I forgot to stop off for cash before I got there so...a couple cute sweaters and a couple items for a Halloween costume got left behind and my morning was wasted...I think I hate that part the most :thatsright:)

So, I'm going to do a little grocery shopping and then finish the kids costumes up tonight.

What is this "vacation" you speak of?  We'll see.  Depending on how Dad does and how much I'm getting back will go a long way towards determining any vacation.

It's been raining since daylight..... :bawl: it's either sprinky-dinkin' or just a soft steady rain. Super soggy.

Have already done an interior shoot and then did a driveby. The other half went with me....he's my protector when I do interiors. Never know what may happen.

We stopped at Wendy's on the way home...the french fries were right out of the fryer and were perfect!!!

Have to get the report done this afternoon on the interior, and really should do some laundry.

Curling up with a hot cup of tea and my book sounds like more fun.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.
