  • O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
What are you grateful for right now?  Maybe take a walk around your abode and just write what comes to mind:

I just walked around my house, feeling that good warm feeling from my stomach, like it is the sun shining in there and I look outside at the snowy dunes and overcast skies and I look at my cat, feeling bored as she looks out at the snow dunes and overcast skies and maybe happy I'm not coming at her with the trimmers to trim more snarls out of her fur and I look at the pile of unfolded laundry I have to get to and the carpet which needs vaccuuming and everything seems perfect and right with the world!   :-)

I am grateful for my life just the way it is right now!

What are you grateful for?  What is making you happy right now?

I'm grateful for my family, first and foremost.  They haven't always liked what I've done (leaving college for a short time, to decide what I REALLY wanted to do with my life) but they continued to support me.

I'm grateful for the second chance I'm getting to really prove that I CAN do this, and that I CAN become an MRI technician.

It is in the 40's outside, if overcast.

I am grateful that the long winter here in Wisconsin is on the way out and that Spring is around the corner.
I am also grateful that our old family reatainer Maggie made it through the winter okay and will get to lay on the grass in the sun before too much longer here and warm her old bones.

I'm grateful that for as bad as the last couple months have sucked, everyone is resonably healthy and happy.

I learned a great affirmation recently I've been repeating all the time: I can be what I will to be!

I change it to:I am what I will to be

But that is my personal preference.

While I really enjoyed yesterday's sun, even if it was at 24 degrees, I am enjoying today's 40's too :)

Spring is almost here. :)

Amen to spring!

As much as I love the fall and the holidays, I love the rebirth of the world every spring and smell in the air and the mild temps.  Best time of year!

Oh, and the flowering trees.  The best part!

Not all of these are trees but they are all nice from last spring 2007:

I am very grateful for soap and water and toothpaste and mouth wash and I am especially grateful for all the other people who use them too  :-)

And water, water is fantastic!  One of the greatest inventions God gave to planet earth.  Why right now, I am sitting here, 90% or so water!

I know a lot of people prefer beer but a perfectly chilled glass of water will do me nearly any time.  I think I'll go and get one right now.

I am a water drinker too.  I even drink water in the middle of the night.  I have my "night jug" on the headboard. :)

It took me 37 years, but I finally got my wife hooked on the stuff too.

Not enough can be said about the wonders of water both drinking and bathing in.

I've always felt, though I don't know if it can be proven, that one of the reasons for the great success of the Roman Empire was their fondness for baths and discussing their ideas in the public baths. I have a hot tub and nothing relaxes me faster or better than a good soak in there.  And nothing is more energizing than the morning shower.

Mainly that my wife and kids are all alive and well.  Next to that, nothing else is really very important.

Indoor plumbing is an undervalued commodity.  :cheersmate:
A thing that is common is often undervalued.  It is like the story that King Lear is based on where the daughter tells her father that she loves him the way salt loves meat and he thinks it means nothing while his other daughters lavish him with false praise.

In the stories not as melodramatic as Lear, eventually he is served meat that is unsalted by his daughter who, having been disowned, has become a servant.  Then he cries tears because he finally understand just how deep her love in.  In all the other stories but Lear, they are reunited and live happily ever after.  But Lear, being a Shakespearian tragedy, everyone dies.  Hope that isn't a spoiler for anybody  :-) That's pretty much how all his tragedies end.

But yes, indoor plumbing is a great, great blessing as anyone who has ever had to use an outhouse, especially in the middle of winter can attest.  I can't but when I was younger my older relatives told us stories about it.

I am grateful for health, family, friends, and yes even irritating moonbats.  :lmao:

Also, I am grateful to be a citizen of the best country on the planet and I am very much humbled by the sacrifices made by our military and their families.
