I think we'll get 2/3 in this years elections

Unfortunately, in Virginia, despite that McConnell is truly from the 15th. century with his views, looks like he's going to win....But I think Corzine is going to win a close governor race in NJ...And of course, who can forget NY-23....If Republicans would stick with the moderate candiate (Scozzafava) she'd probably win, but the hard-liners want Hoffman, who has NO chance at winning....Conservatives just don't get it that NY-23 is not KS, MS, TN, etc....And NY-23 isn't even NYC, it's upstate...So let them fight, we'll take the House seat

Democrat Owens Leads in NY-23 Permalink

"With the Republicans likely to win the Virginia governorship and the Democrats having a decent shot at hanging onto the New Jersey governorship by their fingernails, the tie breaker on Nov. 3 could be the special election in NY-23, the seat vacated by John McHugh (R), who is now Secretary of the Army. The most recent poll their shows Democrat Bill Owens at 33%, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 29% and Conservative Doug Hoffman at 23%. This race has split the Republican party badly, with the party establishment naturally backing the official Republican candidate despite her moderate positions on many issues but conservative activists backing the red-meat conservative Hoffman, who is running on the Conservative Party line".

1. We are being saved by libertarians

The GOP is having its own civil war right now. Lets hope it continues.

2. McDonnell hasn't won yet. If you know anyone in VA, call them and encourage them to vote for Deeds, Wagner, and Shannon. McDonnell and Cucinelli are the American Taliban.

To paraphrase somebody's campaign slogan, "HOPE TO CHANGE".
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

With ACORN in hiding I give all of those races to the R.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The "Republican" in NY-23 first approached the Dems for a ballot spot but her brother has tax problems and they shied away. The GOP didn't care that she is supported by ACORN (I guess they haven't heard about them yet) and likely more liberal than the Democrat. Anyone in the GOP who is sane would vote for Hoffman,

Whoa whoa wait a minute.

That's a stretch.

You're insinuating that without ACORN, New Jersey has honest elections?

That poll cited up there is not the most recent.  The most recent has Hoffman surging 7 points, Dede losing 6 points.  Still lots of undecideds.  It's a tight race with Hoffman gaining momentum, and quite a lot of national money coming in.  They've run out of yard signs and had to re-order.
