17. It's another Rovian plot to distract us from Obama's failures

To be fair, the thread is at <0 recs, the DUmmies are pissed at the OP, and now he/she/it offers a mea culpa of sorts:

What?  He was mad because the boy in the balloon pre-empted another self-congratulatory, self-praising speech by Obamalamadingdong?  Don't they get tired of seeing his face and hearing that voice?  I know I do.

A few of the DUmmies went up in my estimation when they smacked the OP down.

Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

The Boy in the Balloon is not national news
 My thoughts and prayers go out the boy and I hope he is found safe.

But live coverage on CNN? Interrupting the president of the United States? At a time when this nation is at war and in economic crisis?

I seem to remember that President Bush had entire speaches that were not covered by the MSM...

He was hiding in the attic.

When I first heard the story on the radio, I thought of the film 13 Monkeys, and had a feeling the kid was hiding.

Its a hoax. They have video of the launch. Daddy and Mommy were there, counting down to liftoff. Mommy forgot to hold the tether apparently.. Oh and he called the FAA before he called the authorities.

According to CNN, they have been on a couple of reality shows (Wife Swap was one), and the father is an i-Reporter for CNN Headline News.  He leaves me with the impression that he's an enormous douchebag.  I wouldn't be surprised if this was all staged for their benefit... I hope the PD/EMS sues the shit out of them if that is the case.
