Though I support this idea in spirit, we really need to be honest. There is no way to expel either of them, save for at the ballot box. The same is true with joining any particular political party - there is no application for employment beyond the voting booth.

Unless they voluntarily choose to leave the GOP, or resign from their positions altogether, we are stuck with them until good primary challengers remove them from consideration, and that's all there is to it.

Although well intentioned, petitions like this mean slightly less than a sternly written letter from the U.N.

Petitions are a waste of time. We get what we voted for. Until people wake up, signing all the petitions in the world isn't going to make a lick of difference.

So long as we're being honest, in reference to the "leading faces" of the Republican party - McCain, Graham, de Wine, McConnell, etc, etc... - how far, exactly, are Snowe and Collins from the "mainstream" Republican reservation these days?  Sure, they're not voting the "party line", but I thought that was what marked a leader among the Republicans:  the ability to be a Maverick, and "reach around across party lines"?  Hell, maybe the Republicans should be running Snowe and Collins as their 2012 Presidential ticket, what with all the "Presidential qualities" they demonstrate in their voting record?

If you went by ACU ratings, while McCain, Martinez, Graham, et al, aren't all that great, if you look at Snowe's and Collins' records, there are DEMOCRATS who are to the right of them.

That should speak volumes.  But yeah, petitioning is a waste of time, and the professional welfare state that is Maine (with help from the flatlander moonbats) isn't going to throw them out over it, until someone even MORE moonbat comes along.
