Giving the Peace Prize to someone who is vastly expanding the war in Afghanistan, who is not pulling out of Iraq, who hasn't even been able to close Guantanamo like he promised, and who so far has had very little to show in the peace department except for pretty words and empty promises? I think that devalues the standing of the prize, which is unfortunate. A lot of you may be excited that he got the prize, but please, try to take a step back and look at this objectively. There were a lot of other nominees who were better deserving and had a much longer track record than a measly 6 months in office. Our own peace-maker and humanitarian Greg Mortenson for instance, who unlike Obama doesn't let bombs rain on the children of Afghanistan, but instead builds schools for them. I really recommend reading his book, Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace…One School at a Time
