Any theories on why she's running?

She's giving up a much needed Republican Senate seat to run against her own party.  There are no serious Dem candidates as yet.  I figure she's a 'Perot'- she'll split the R vote, handing the state to the Dems on a silver platter.

She's bashing Perry over the NAFTA Highway, yet her husband stands to make BIG $$$$ on it.  She's already steered millions to his firm.

The U.S. senator’s support for a Dallas rail line raises questions because the project padded the coffers of her husband’s law firm. Hutchison failed to identify, as required by law, the recipients of her earmark requests, as well as their purpose.

Attorney Ray Hutchison, the husband of Republican U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, helped write the bonds for Dallas’ Trinity River project. Sure enough, Texas’ senior senator helped allocate $13 million in earmarks for the project.

Google tossed her website because of hidden code regarding Perry. 

In the latest search engine showdown, Google blocked the Web site of Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's gubernatorial campaign last week after it found hidden text in the Web site's source code.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, the source code for the site included more than 2,200 hidden phrases, including word combinations with Hutchison's name and Rick Perry, the name of the incumbent.

Now, the MSM is after Perry for allegedly executing an innocent man.

On Friday, the City released its response to the report, suggesting Beyler is an advocate for Willingham, and accusing him of misrepresenting the facts.  This is not the work of an independent, objective person, the response states.

You know, I wondered about that too.

I like Kay Bailey Hutchinson in the Senate.

And there's already an established Republican in the state house down there in Texas.

This is why I wish political parties would exercise more discipline over candidates running under their banner.  Hutchinson is just fine where she's at, with both the Republican party and herself sitting good.

Here in Nebraska (and in Iowa), we've had that happen, where there were two solid Republicans holding down two offices, but then one of them decided to run for the office held by the other Republican.  The result being, rather than two solid Republicans in two solid seats, we got.....one Republican and one Democrat.

I really think political parties should impose more discipline.
