2 real reasons Chicago did not get the Olympics
   
1. Not enough 911. If Obama had been more like bush he would have said something like:
"If we don't get the Olympics, then the terrorists who struck us on 9/11 will have won. They want you to pick another country because they hate our freedoms, pick Chicago or Osama wins."

2. Coaches, teams, families, etc coming here to US for the games can't afford to pay for health insurance and care here and did not understand the concept of having 50% or more of the cost of coming here would be for paying for private insurance. It is a foreign concept to them and they just can't wrap their minds around it and worry that anyone injured might not be able to get cared for....

3. Difficulty getting through security. This isn't an easy country to get into and out of.

4. Wingnuts ranting about Obama being Hitler incarnate because he wants to provide health care to them. I would be afraid of attending a large venue event in that climate of lunacy as well.

Oh FFS! Do they really think people buy insurance in every country they travel too?  US Olympians have insurance, and I'm sure other countries do to.

Reason #1 should be No person in their right mind would willingly go to one of the murder capitals of the U.S. and spend a week or two.  Why leave a war zone to go to a war zone to watch games when you can stay at home and watch a war in your front yard?

Of all the reasons, that isn't one. There is no more dangerous city in the entire world than Rio.

It makes Chicago look like Beverly Hills.

In Rio and in Sao Paulo, you are confined to your hotel. Groups of muggers loiter around every downtown hotel

I think my head just asploded.   :banghead:  These people don't really believe that one has to buy health insurance from the country they are visiting.  I refuse to think people believe that....I just refuse.

1.  After the 'apology tour' the rest of the world now views the United States as a weak, sniveling country, and feel that they are free to piss all over the USA without fear of reprocussion.

2. Obama's "Walk outside of my family home" speech made it clear to the IOC that Obama wanted to make the Olympics about him, and not the athletes.

3. Michelle's 'Take no prisoners' comment made it clear to the IOC that the Obama's are arrogant people who feel they are owed the Olympics because they are the Obama's - The IOC decided that they needed bitchslapping as a response.

4. If the Olympics were held in Chicago, the IOC would feel compelled to add Grifting, Gangland Freestyle Fighting, and the 2x4 Beatdown to the Summer Olympic repertoire. They would rather not be in that position.

The jug-eared muslim cut his teeth on the absolute corruption of Cook County democrat racial
politics. For many years, the IOC has shown itself to be at least as corrupt as Cook County.
The muslim knew full well that only a few million more dollars, funnelled into IOC members'
personal accounts, would have secured the Olympics for Chicago, and he could have easily
made that money available. The only realistic conclusion is that he did not want the Olympics
to be located in Chicago.
