I loved seeing Stahl break!

Is it just me or does it seem with Unser's church, the padre, the housekeeper, Gemma helping Chibs and reading her Bible etc that the show is somewhat sympathetic to notions of religion even of the Christian flavorings?

Most shows/movies depict christians as buffoonish hypocrites and/or crooks. For a show that immerses itself in lawlessness, hedonism and brutality the juxtaposition seems far more appealing than shows that simply strive for shock value or mock religion or pander to dime-store moralisms.

I noticed that too.  Not a single religious person on the show has been a child molestor or brainwashing freak!  You don't get that treatment on so many shows.  I know there is a ton of symbolism too.

Avoided this thread since Tuesday night, but finally caught up & got to watch it last night.  Excellent episode, befitting my avatar.

Good call on Mr. Snuggle Bunny's part about Piney...didn't expect he'd try and take out Clay, though.

Tig trying to nail Gemma!  That threw me for a loop...thank goodness he stopped, that was a weird scene.

Should be an entertaining final two episodes.  Wondering how he's gonna close the season.  I'm gonna assume that we get an hour & a half finale.  I'd better check my DVR and see.

I'm not particularly religious, but I do pay attention to anti-religion themes in the few shows/movies that I watch.

What is surprising is that the creator (Kurt Sutter, see blog link way upthread) is a flaming liberal.  He's an entertaining guy, at least from what I can tell from the blog.  I was kinda worried when I read before the season started that there would be a white-supremacist/religious aspect.

Loose threads - What ever happened to:

Darby
Chuck
Wendy
Officer Tommel (sp?)

I judge a series by its minor characters as much as its major plot lines. Did I miss something, is there bonus content some where or did these people just disappear?

Darby and Chuck were in the fire at the porn studio; Trammel was shot pulling over someone to frame her for drugs (helping SoA); Wendy was last seen at Donna's funeral, watching Jax kiss Tara.

Wendy (Drea DeMatteo from the Sopranos) was pretty much written out of the show, because she wanted too much money.  It might have been interesting to see her battle with Tara, but I guess we'll never find out.

I know but when the studio burnt down there was no discussion of bodies found. For all we know one or both of them escaped.

Trammel was shot and that's the last we heard of him.

And apparently there is no graceful way to write bitches out of the script (thanx for the 411, RW).

Did you guys see Lem??!?!?!?  I LOVE LEM!!!!!  I hope he turns into a central character next season!  Zobelle is such a freaking nasty piece of crap!  I now love Tara!  She is totally turning into Gemma Jr.

Tara appears to be pregnant,IRL.  Now we know Chuck survived I'm guessing Darby did too.

I thought I saw him in the background at the beginning when they were doing a crowd shot of the clubhouse, then he actually had a line.  Too funny.

Things went WAY too smoothly in that episode.  I'm wondering what twists & turns await us in the season finale.  90 minutes next Tuesday!

Is Kyle Hobart, the dude that got the tattoo burned off of his back, back in the club? I thought that was him wearing a 'cut' and that Tig was displeased about his presence.

I didn't notice.  Still on my DVR, but I don't exactly remember what the guy looked like.  That was an episode from last season where they burned off his tattoo, right?

Yeah, it's been awhile since I've seen that episode too, so I couldn't tell. Normally I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but Tig was pissed about it. He also showed up to the brawl with Rollins' crew, so maybe they kissed and made up and he's back in. If it were me, I'd feed every one of them sumbitches through a wood chipper if they took a blowtorch to me, but we're talking about biker trash here, so you never know.

No, guys that was Lem from The Shield!  How could you not know that?  I am just so disappointed with you.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0425543/  I know he isn't listed on there as being on Sons but my libido hit a high note the second I saw him and that only happens for a few men in this world.

I'm not so sure about that mama. I lack the time to copy, download, and post the picks, but Lem was Kenny Johnson and Kyle was Brian Van Holt. They look awfully similar, so in the dull lighting of the clubhouse, it could be either one.

It was Lem.  Brian Van Holt was Butchie Yost in John From Cincinatti.  I loved that show too even though it didn't make a lick of sense.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Johnson_(actor) He also appears during the latest season of Sons of Anarchy.

I can't believe you doubted my tingly libido for even a second!!! :bawl:

Just wow!  Don't want to post any spoilers but that was a damn good episode with some pretty good threads hanging for next season.

Yes it was. Gemma? Abel? Zobelle? To a minor extent Alvarez and the Mayans? The Aryans in the joint? They've already got about 5 plot lines to work for next season. Weston was hard-core to the end.

Man...

...if I were Sutter I would have at least given Half-Sack his top rocker before killing him.

WOW!  I kept hoping Stahl would take one in the head.  That whole Abel thing is so messed up I don't even know where to start.  I had mucho respect for Weston for taking it like a man.  His kids are going to be total head cases though. :mental:  I hate cliff hangers so much!  What if I die before next season?  I will never know what happens!  Speaking of which, I can't find anything about when next season will happen! :bawl:

I'm not a fan of cliffhangers either.  I would imagine Season 3 will start next fall....so nine months of waiting.

Did anyone catch the preview of the new FX show with Shane from The Shield?  It looks weird.
