What would you do if *they* really start coming to get us?
No - not the Underwear Gnomes - but say we start seeing RW Paramilitary groups like they have in Columbia, Honduras and Guatemala?
Friends of yours are kidnapped without the police doing anything
People are taken out of their homes and never seen again
The Police uses the paramilitaries to do the dirty work they can't
You may say "That could never happen here!"
That's what folks thought in Chile in 1973. Before Pinochet, Chile was a democracy longer than any other Latin American country. Many people said "No puede hacerlo aqui!" and it hacerlo'd there

1. I think some of us would have a second look at the Second Amendment if it came to that.
Hmmmm.....I seem to remember there was a guy that so many of the people were really impressed with. Young guy...different from others.
He got himself elected to head up the government.
Got himself some people who would do anything he asked....they adored him....they worshipped him.
Damn...what was his name?
Oh...
...it was Hitler....
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
