Tuesday all day today
« on: September 29, 2009, 09:03:46 AM »
Happy Tuesday, we all survived Monday  :cheersmate:  We have a lunch meeting a work, and I have no idea what it is about.  I'm hoping for good news.

Fall weather is finally starting to creep in.  69 is the expected high today, so I think I'm going to wear a Fall type outfit.

What does everybody else have going on today?

How YOU doin'?  :naughty:

Work, work, work.  12's from now until sometime in November.  The outage is supposed to end on the 26th, but it NEVER goes perfectly.  EVER.  I'm guessing Veteran's Day before we go off shift, at least.  Monday is my day off for the outage.  I guess that's okay, aside from the fact I'm getting screwed on holiday pay for Columbus Day this time around.

Fall?  If 70 degrees is fall, we've been there for several weeks now.  A few warm days here and there, but the leaves are definitely changing quickly now, and where I live will peak in a week to 10 days at most.  It'll max out in the high 50's/low 60's now, but by the end of the month we'll be lucky to see 50's, and pretty much hard freezes every night until April.

Woohoo, one of my favorite guys  :naughty:

If I could get my boss to approve some overtime, I could easily work some 12 hour days.  I swear, most of the stuff on my desk needed to be done yesterday  :bawl:  Practically everything is a rush matter.

We were up in the 100's and upper 90's over the weekend.  69 feels really nice and cool now

All I have to do is remove two words and this thread goes immediately to the Short Bus.  And to make matters worse, it's not Saturday, and I'm sober.

Saw my breath this morning.  Fall is upon us with a risk of skipping right to winter, if the mild summer was any indication.
Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.   ~Robert A. Heinlein

I just read this morning that the north east is due for a very cold winter, because of a weak El Nino.  I'm guessing that's what the magic 8-ball said anyway.

Someone was born with it.  Wake up, goes to bed, eats, sleeps, etc., all with said dirty mind.  One you accept that simple fact about me, and half the human race for that matter, all else falls into place.

CR will accept it and looks to be on her way to do so :evillaugh:

It makes life easier to accept that a)all men have dirty minds and b)women are ALWAYS in control, no matter what the owner of the dirty mind thinks :-)

As for Tuesday, already worked out and am now playing catch up after being sick for the better part of last week.  :thatsright:

My step dad came sunday.  He is retired but does dealer trades for a Ford dealership in Dallas.  He flew in and then drove back a truck that he got from a dealership in Anaheim.  I love my step dad but it's hard to spend 48 hours with him.  I felt like I couldn't do my normal activities.

I'm cold this morning.  It's 66 degrees out right now which isn't cold but I feel really cold.  I think I'm trying to get sick.

63 now, supposed to get up to 67....the sun's out and it's beeee-u-ti-ful!!!!

Working on a report, doing laundry, and so on....
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

It's not raining!  It's a Festivus miracle!!

The rain was getting to be too much.  At least we have a couple days without it (until next week).

Nah, it's just kinda damp, marine layer and the like.  Happens a lot--more so when you get near the ocean.

ETA: It's one of those things I never really understood or got used to.  66 at the beach is NOT the same as 66 in the Valley or the IE.

Worked today...schlepping kids around tonight.  My daughter was in a minor accident yesterday, meaning no injuries, but her car is no longer functional.  Total suckage.

Let's see . . . My supervisor came to me this afternoon and dropped off a bunch of files for different utilities across NYS, on my desk.  The gist of what he said was, "When the other guy gets these, it takes a month for them to get valued.  I know that if I give them to you, you'll get them valued before the end of the hour.  You're reliable that way--quirky, but reliable."  He got the files back, all valued properly, within 15 minutes.

He also mentioned something that me laugh pretty hard--"We know that you'll run through a brick wall if we told you to.  Problem with that is, after you ran through the wall, we'd probably have to say, 'No, we didn't mean that brick wall--we meant this brick wall over here.'"

I found out that The Heiress loved apple picking with daycare today.  Now, the idea is to get both The Heiress and my wife to bed soon (they're both pretty tired).

NAPA wanted to charge me $140 for wheel bearings today.  Say what?  I can order them online for $70.  I renewed my drivers license today and bought a bunch of body and paint supplies.  Bondo costs more per pound than steak.  Damn, that stuff is expensive.

Speaking of steak, I went out to O'Charleys for dinner.  Mmmm... ribeye.  Not a bad day at all.
