I have a different opinion on the matter - Other than the blatant narcissism and attacking religion as heartily as they do at the DUmp, I always felt that Charles has attempted to redefine conservatism, and has appointed himself high minister of the new organization. - In many ways Charles now out 'Ron Pauls' the original Ron Paul. - Take everything a Paultard believes and multiply the intensity of that belief by 1000%. Then mix in a generous helping of righteous indignation, and you'll get the picture.

Its an odd thing to watch someone go insane, but..well.. there you go..

The nadir was reached a few days ago when longtime moderator Killgore Trout went over to Hot Air to post racist (and I mean actually racist, not the "anyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist" kind of racist) comments in the middle of the night. He told Charles about it beforehand, but he did nothing to stop it. The posts weren't deleted for several hours because all of the moderators were asleep at the time (it's likely it was done at that hour for just that reason), and Killgore Trout, and soon after Charles himself used that as "proof" that Hot Air is nothing but a bunch of "racists and bigots".

Same trick the Canadian Human Rights Commissions used against people they wanted to target.

Other than a few posts like the ones that exposed Pali fauxtoshopping during the Lebanon War, I haven't been to LGF much. Johnson's seeming lack of principles reminds me of the owner of a discussion site I frequented during the Clinton (Mal)Administration. He was very anti-Clinton ... then. Along came Pres. Bush and the owner was full-bore BDS, giving credence to every whacked-out Hate-Bush rumor that came along.

I suppose this thread illumines the reason libs and progs hysterically hate "neo-cons," who are, supposedly, liberals who switched sides. In a word, "betrayal," perceived or real.

He had an issue with Ben Stein's movie, and he never looked back.

I never saw the movie, but it sounded silly.  But that is not a reason to go silly yourself.

And a lot of the anti jihadist also went kind of racist about arabs.   I have a little issue with that myself.   But I also have a big issue about how Islam behaves.   I stopped going when he went weird about Ben Stein, I kept checking in, but by October, I just plain removed his bookmark.

Tis a pity, because when he was good, he was great.
