3. Watched it yesterday - I have a lot of questions about it, same as the ACORN videos
 The kid demonstrating the song at the beginning is not in any of the following renditions.

It is not clear if this is a school activity or something done by a group using school facilities.

The school is not identified in the video, by the poster on YouTube, or in any of the locations it has been posted on the internet. Michelle Malkin linked to it and there was a comment about it being in Illinois. I have not been able to find any record of any school having a program with singing about President Obama.

 If this were a public school elementary class I would object to the activity. [we await your objections --MSB] I don't care if the guy in the White House is Jesus Christ arisen, it's simply not appropriate to lead children in hymns of praise to the person of the president. I would be rightly upset to see a bunch of kids led in a similar chant praising Reagan or Bush, and just because it's "my guy" in office doesn't make it right.

But as csziggy points out, we really don't know about the circumstances of the video. If this is not a public school class it changes the picture considerably. It would not be at all difficult to find video of homeschoolers, church groups, etc. leading kids in pro-Bush activities, and no matter how poor taste I might have found those people do have the right to do these things.

17. So I take it you've never been to an elementary school music program? 
 Kids sing songs praising famous people all the time.

I am reminded of when I was in grade school in the 60s and we sang German songs at an Octoberfest. One of the parents was upset because she thought the songs praised the Nazis. My grandmother who was German pointed out that those songs had been sung by school children for hundreds of years before the Nazis came to power. You don't negate a heritage because of the behavior of one generation.
 
Tradition we can deal with...cults of personality, not so much.

A YouTube video shows nearly 20 young children being led in a song overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president's name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country's economy No. 1 again."

The video has set off families in Burlington, N.J., who say that politics shouldn't be forced on young students.

"This video is disturbing," said a grandparent named Sandy, who spoke on the condition that her last name not be noted. "I'm disturbed that someone can give their political opinions in school like this. I'm dead-set against it.

"We don't teach politics in pre-school -- or kindergarten or first grade," said Sandy, who told FOXNews.com she has two grandchildren attending B. Bernice Young Elementary School, where the video was filmed. "This has no place in the classroom. It may have been the opinion of one or two, and someone should pay the consequences for it."

School officials said Thursday the students were "singing a song about President Obama" in February "to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country."

"The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized," wrote Christopher M. Manno, superintendent of Burlington Township School District, in a statement to parents.

One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus' name is replaced with Obama's: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."

The author of the songs is unknown, but a woman -- possibly a teacher -- can be heard in the beginning of the video correcting and helping a student who has forgotten the words.

I asked my kids if they had seen it and neither of them had (but then again we lived in Texas for the past 15 years).  I'm not so sure my youngest wont end up seeing it in this POS state of California.  If they do end up showing it to her they will hear from me.

I hadn't heard about this, I've been so busy.  I took a break about 3:20 and listened to the radio during my smoke.  Hannity had it on.  It was soooo creepy, and then I couldn't get the damn song out of my head. 

"Doth?"  Isn't that blatantly hymn-like?  This is so North Korea.  We have got to keep eagle eyes on our schools.
