First Day of Fall...
« on: September 22, 2009, 07:51:30 AM »
And it's warmer now than it was in August.  Go figure.

Waiting for the Dish guy to come switch out recievers, other than that, nothing planned.   Might go to the library.

Beautiful sunrise, but heavy fog as one got closer to the seacoast.  Still hasn't completely burned off, and yeah, we've got a warm/wet few days ahead of us.

Cold front came through last night.  We are 20 degrees less than we were yesterday.  (90 degrees yesterday)  Unfortunately, we are going to go back up to 90 by the end of the week.  Yay.

As long as I'm in a T-shirt and shorts at 5 a.m. while walking the pups (we do about 1.5 miles), it ain't autumn yet.

Some ground fog this morning, but not as bad as yesterday.

Gotta meeting tonight, after work. Practice beforehand.

Hell, I do that in December.  I got plenty of "insulation", anyway.

Pouring down rain and black as sin outside.  We actually lost power for a minute which is really rare here. Almost all the power lines in town are buried and the grid is usually rock solid.

8 sunless and rainy days out of the past 10. Cold front moved in and cooled it off here overnight about 10 degrees. Damn grasshoppers are everywhere.

It stopped raining (I got to see a small ray of sun for the first time in a week) long enough for the guys to get out here and start on the diseased and dying trees.  Got about 20 needing to come down.  Just hope the rain holds off so they can get finished.

We're under a boil water advisory until Thursday evening.  The hydroelectric plant became overwhelmed with the amount of rainfall and a lot of the piping can't handle the pressure.  Some idiot put a 45 degree angle in the main on our road and the repairs aren't going so well.

OMG!!!! The sun is out!!!!!!

It's only temporary the weather guy said at noon.....just long enough to warm up into the 80's and generate energy to bring thunderstorms in later this afternoon.

Thinking about rearranging my office....been thinking about it for several months...but don't have any reports due until Thursday night so would have uninterrupted time to do it.....now if I just had enough motivation...
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

We had some rain earlier with the temps in the low 80's, but now the sun is out and the humidity is climbing.

It is currently 84 here right now and it is supposed to get up to 94.  Tomorrow it is going to get up to 97.  It does cool down at night which is nice to sleep with the windows open.  When we moved here back in July the weather was really nice.  Now it is hot, I want fall NOW.

It's rained most of the day here in North Central Texas. It's a whopping 63° right now. I'm having a tough time getting motivated to do stuff, like rebuilding a PC.

Hang in there.  It is gonna be 90 soon.  Summer hasn't had her fill of us yet.  Me?  I am just happy I had another day that I didn't have to worry about watering the lawn.

Percy Priest Lake is up by three feet this week.  That's a LOT of water.

More rain on the way.  Everyone on the Gulf Coast between Brownsville and Mobile is getting pounded.

Yesterday started out rainy and got up to a scorching 58°.  Today it started out at 39°, and never got above 53°.  We put on the winter bedspreads last night.  Overnight tonight, and tomorrow, there are some weather twits predicting 6" of snow on the Denver Metro.

I just took the AC unit offline on Sunday.  :bawl:

Wait until after fire season.  Between the 24/7 helicopter footage of the fires, broken only the the helicopter footage of the latest police chase spanning at least 4 freeways...you get the idea.

Oh, and you're gonna laugh your ass off the first time you turn on Channel 4 when three drops of rain fall from the sky, and there's that poor bastard Gordon Tokamatsu and the "STORM WATCH 2009!!!!" graphic all over your screen.

BTW--I hate Phil Moyers.  Too bad you never got to watch Hal Fishman on KTLA.  At least he was watchable as far as LA newsmen went.
