Race Based Discipline in Tuscon schools?
« on: September 21, 2009, 03:03:29 PM »
Tucson schools create race-based system of discipline
by Doug MacEachern – Sept. 19, 2009 08:22 PM
The Arizona Republic

…The board is calling for a two-tiered form of student discipline. One for Black and Hispanic students; one for everyone else.

With the goal of creating a “restorative school culture and climate” that conveys a “sense of belonging to all students,” the board is insisting that its schools reduce its suspensions and/or expulsions of minority students to the point that the data reflect “no ethnic/racial disparities.”

Yeah, that makes sense.  Equal rights aren't good enough, they want extra special treatment.

That's like a city claiming it has successfully reduced violent crime because they just stop taking reports when they reach 90% of last year's number, whether it's June or December.

This is completely and unquestionably illegal.

These are the same sort of idiots that think the justice system is biased because minorities make up a higher percentage of prison inmates than their percentage of the population.  :banghead:

If they tried that in San Antonio, the white kids could destroy the schools with no consequences.

That will get shot down in court asap.

In many ways. Local governments--school boards, etc--can screw things up worse than anyone on the federal level. And yet, very few people ever vots in those elections.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Good idea!  We'll just let the violent offenders off while punishing the good kids who just pull the same pranks we did when we were in school! ****ing brilliant! Let's teach them life has no consequences!

I thought one of the landmark legal decisions of the 20th century was that "separate but equal is inherently unequal"?

Now, now, now.  Lets not bring actual legal precedent to this issue.  We are focusing on the feelings of those poor minority students.  They feel like they get in trouble more, so we need to make sure that the white kids get in trouble just as often  :mental:

So is race-based voter intimidation...or rather, at least it used to be.

Here's the thing: who will enforce the law. Parliament can write all the laws it wants with justice and equality in mind, but if the king elects one faction over another against who he wields his sword it is still tyranny.

QUERY: Will they also get their own water fountains?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Maybe their own cafeteria with lunch counters?
