Thursday...
« on: September 17, 2009, 11:00:57 AM »
Soggy outside.  Not raining, per se, but still wet.   Mr Flame took the morning off the supervise the Dish guy, and he has just decidedto go ahead and take the whole day, so that makes me happy!

Supposed to be a baseball game tonight and football practice, but with the weather, neither are guaranteed!

And, just for a blast to the past, how about a TOTD:   What are you most looking forward to this fall?

At least it will be, starting next week.  Outage for the plant coming up soon and everyone going ape.

10's next week, then on shift for 12's the week after that.  Main breaker opens 12:01 AM, 1 October.  You won't be hearing much of me until probably somewhere between Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.

On the weather note, fall is officially here.  Leaves starting to turn quite quickly now, might hit peak here by first week of October, which is about two weeks early for where I live.  Mid-50's today, warms up for an Indian Summer weekend, then back into the low 40's at nights, maybe low to mid-60's during the day.  Heater is going to be on in a few weeks.  Air conditioner came out last weekend.  Oh well.

Sunny and mild here.

TOTD:  Normally I would  say that I was looking forward to cooler temperatures, but it hasn't been a hot summer, so that is out.  Maybe looking forward to a mild fall and winter would work.

TOTD: A steady if all too short lived supply of Honeycrisp Apples.  And the first fall night where you can see your breath and smell burning leaves.

Almost a full week of rain here.  Which is appreciated, however, maybe not so much at one time?  Down in the high 70's currently, but will be back in the mid-80's as soon as the rain ends.

TOTD:  I wish for a nice long crisp fall.  Typically we only get about 2 weeks of it, and that is just right before winter.  I have a long list of soups and stews I wish to make this year.

R.I.P. LC and Crockspot.  Miss you guys.

I'm looking forward to Halloween this year.  Apparently they get hundreds and hundreds of kids on this street.  They block off the street and all the neighbors sit on the porch and watch all the kids.  It is apparently really fun.

Oh and like asdf Honeycrisp Apples.  YUM!

Fall cleaning, must get done while windows are open, chemicals make us ill.

Say I have been watching those adds for the steam cleaners from Oeric that use just tap water and need no chemicals.  He has a new one out that can be used over head to clean ceiling fans and tops of cabinets.  Have any of you ever had one of these steamers, I would like to know if they work on tubs and toilets.

Kind of pricey but if I can get away from chemicals it just may be worth it.

So much to do to batten down the hatches, making lists, endless lists.
