Letter I sent to the editor
« on: February 27, 2008, 07:42:52 PM »
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.

Shocking Site

As I was driving down Wellons Blvd on Wednesday I noticed the United States flag flying in front of the Sun Journal.  I was appalled at the site I saw.  The flag is ripped and tattered beyond belief.  The condition of the falg showed it had been in this condition for some time.

The flag representsour country.  The flag is what approximatley 1.3 million Americans have died defending all it stands for.  The flag is what a country gives the grieving families of fallen soilders, sailors and airmen who died giving their all for their country and a symbol that stands for it.  The flag is also what every veteran is given for their service in death for their own sacrifices.

I wonder if people just forget what the flag stands for.  I wonder if people just forget what sacrifices have been made for the flag.

It's a shame to see a symbol of our great country in such bad shape in front of a buisness that is covered under the First Admendment of the US Constitution.

Please remedy this situation by properly disopsing of that battered flag and placing a new flag in its place.

Thank you,

Nelson Dale

Other than the minor typo in the second paragraph, it looks like an excellent LTTE to me. Go ahead and get it to the papers, CH.

Damn, you have two first names.  :-)
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
